A "ping" of me in a reply to me does not also give a "username mention" alert.
Just a "comment reply."

I would guess the programming would be "if we already told them of this comment, we don't have to tell them of the same comment again."
And you do not get notifications of every comment in a subthread. That way madness lies.

You probably get that here as well. They are technically replies directly to you.
But there is a clicky to turn that off when you post.

I do like being able to up vote a single post (of others) as both "insightful" and "fun."

It looks like saidit assumes that you consider your own comment to be "insightful," so it turns that on for you.

But you have the option to say "no it's not, it's merely fun."
Or, "it's neither fun nor insightful."

This is left up to the commenter. Nice.
