If they had somehow managed to nominate an actual mentally capable, not 80 year old white man to the candidacy they would have likely walked away with the election. Or even if they had, but that unstable 80 year old was Bernie, they probably easily win in November. They are following up an election with a historically bad candidate in HRC, with a somehow even weaker candidate in Creepy Sleepy Fondle-Me Joe. Trump is going to absolutely demolish him in a debate. If they had nominated a black woman, they crush trump. But the DNC is so corrupt and inept they cant see what's right in front of them.

It's using their own tactics against them. This guy cannot become president. I know he wouldn’t actually be running the show even if he was competent. However, the vast majority of the country, and the western world for that matter, still assumes the POTUS to be the one calling the shots.
