Fact: 16 and 17 year olds in Wi can carry long rifles. There is no part of the law that references what (lawful) activity they must be engaged in while doing so.
Fact: Wi requires someone to retreat before using deadly force unles they're in their house or business.

Now here is Politifact's coverage of this:
-- they start yammering about conceal carry and how Rittenhero didn't have one.
My Fact Check- irrelevant and misleading. This has nothing to do with concealed carry.
-- then they state a law which is not relevant but appears to be:
"any person under 18 years of age who possesses or goes armed with a dangerous weapon is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor."
MyFactCheck Irrelevant : "John Monroe, an attorney who specializes in gun rights, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that there’s an exception for rifles and shotguns". So there's an exception for long rifiles. That means it's an exception. What part of "exception" does Poltifact not undestand?
-- they repeatedly describes Rittenhero's gun, the AR-15, as an "assault-style weapon".
My FactCheck: The AR in AR-15 stands for "Armalite Rifle", the maker, not "assault rifle" or "automatic rifle". There is NOTHING special about this rifle, specifically, it has no property that links it to an "assault" of any kind.
-- then they offer up this distortion: "Rittenhouse stands accused of shooting the protesters."
MyFactCheck:
Yeah, Rittenhouse stands accused of killing people who were trying to kill him who themselves were rioters rioting at a riot.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
