What is "boogaloo boys"?

I was asked today "haven't you heard about the Boogaloo Boys and all the threats & violence they are causing"

Honestly I had not and maybe I've been living under a rock or just not listening to the correct media. I've only seen this in online references but never in real-life news. So I'm wondering if it exists or if it's "just an idea".

Does anyone have links showing this movement in the real world, news sites or whatever? Please share.

I was under the impression it was Big Igloo, a gun rights group. The idea from what I understand is that they wanted to include people of all walks of life into the gun rights groups. IE, non racist, no sexist gun rights group for all. Now they have been branded racist right wing extremest by the mainstream media.

Which came first though? It seems like "big igloo" is just code for "boogaloo".

Basically I'd like to hear different sides on this. Or is the mainstream reporting accurate?

Almost by definition, I don't think the mainstream can understand internet memes. Hence I don't think they can report on things like this accurately.
