Covid was removed from the High consequence infectious diseases (HCID) list on the 19th March in the UK. Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Avian influenza A H7N9 and H5N1 are still on the list. We didn't lock down for those deseases so why did we lockdown for Covid-19?

As a rule of thumb once a disease's R number drops down to 1, if it's basic R is 2.5, that means more than half your population caught it.

London hit 1 before the lockdown.

Ergo: 4.5 million infected and about 6k dead

IFR 1.33%, or a one in 750 chance of dying if catching it. 90% of deaths over 70.

We've been bullshitted as to how dangerous it is, people.

It's an even smaller chance than that. Following WHO instructions health ministries and departments labelled all those who had died with the disease (testing positive for it) but who did not die from the disease (a heart attack, a stroke, falling off a ladder) as being a "covid death". These "covid deaths" are to be corrected at a later date by a coroners report.... which of course keeps mounting as people continue to die, and in fact are dying more, from an inability to seek the resources they need to treat other illnesses like cancer.

A perfect example of this can be seen when you look on the wiki for Covid in Norway (ideal for it's small size). They have reported 279 deaths from covid but only 36 people were ever hospitalised from it, only 6 put into critical care, and only 2 put on ventilators. Go check for yourself. These 36, 6, and 2 cases, respectively, were not just the numbers of people who went through these stages and then recovered, these are all the people, recovered or not, who went through either hospitalization or critical care. So how on earth did they get 279 deaths? Because they listed dying with covid as the same thing as dying of covid.

Not sure that's nefarious so much as cause of death can be more than just simple black & white. As an example, my grandmother when she passed had a number of things wrong with her that led to her end. To say she died from complications resulting from Parkinson's, bone cancer, or a fall are all true. I suspect the exact cause of death was palliative care. Or you could say she died of old age because she had these ailments because she was old.

If she had happened to have had covid when she died she would have been a covid death. It's just not a perfect system, not everything is a square peg fitting in a square hole.

You got the numbers wrong. Up to date info (12.11.2020): 291 deaths, 1407 hospitalisations, 278 in intensive care so far.

There are not thousands of deaths in the UK. There are only a few thousand in the US.

All the tens of thousands you hear about are people who were suspected to have covid19, or died of complications from other medical conditions, and were attributed to covid19. They did not actually die from the disease. They died because they were dying.

That's not my point. Boris has to be able to take the risk that you are right and these deaths aren't his fault but he can't do that, he doesn't have the metal.

Anyway apparently Boris and Dominic Cummings are having a blazing row in number 10 as we speak with Cummings likely to leave. If he does Tory HQ will try to get Lynton Crosby's team back in which will lead to some very different tactics.

I've never been a fan of Boris, although I am obviously not as well informed about politics in the UK as you are. He always seemed week when dealing with the EU, especially the fishing thing, until recently. I think it's too late for him though. Yall r guna need somebody else to defend you from the globalists.

I wouldn't want to fire people either in his position, why expose yourself to negative baggage like that when you have so much other responsibility to shoulder. I wouldn't expect him to have to worry about cooking his own meals or cleaning his own toliet either.

It's not hard to fire people. Bring the whole cabinet over to my house right now and I'll fire the lot of them, no problem. People who can't do basic leadership stuff like that have no business running a country. They can't face the consequences of their actions, but someone else is going to have to face those consequences. Just like with lockdown, the government have to face up to the covid-19 figures so go running scared of those but they don't have to face the hidden cost of suicides, cancer deaths, etc so those are all fine.

Experts with the CDC affirm that in order to warrant contact tracing, a person would need to have had sustained close contact with a laboratory-confirmed case for at least 15 minutes... so why the hell are we mandated to wear masks even when out alone?

There were four recorded cases of SARS infection in the UK. There seem to have been no confirmed cases of human infection by H7N9 and H5N1 in the UK. We probably won't lock-down for pathogens that show infection counts between 0 and 4. COVID-19 has infected somewhere north of a million people in the UK. We probably would lock-down for that.

That's just a guess - I'm not a doctor.
