Writing from a moderate-sized city (~300,000 within limits, ~2 million metro-area) in the US. My wife texted me mid-day yesterday "Get gas now!" It turns out gas stations are running out. I ended up buying premium (which I haven't done in years) simply because it's available. All the "money" in the world makes no difference when the economy ceases to provide the goods that money is supposed to represent. This can't last much longer. Our "system" is losing the ability to maintain supply even of the inputs that make its own propagation possible. Although collapse of an economy the size of that of the US is a complex issue with many causes acting over many time frames, in this particular case, it cannot be ignored that if you shut down pipelines in the middle of an already weak economy, energy supply issues are a direct result of that action. The current regime are pathologically and very intentionally dismantling a functioning economy (leading to real-world deprivation and suffering) in the name of a mixture of simplistic ideologies which - while the slogans sound all very Kumbaya - are insanely destructive to the lives of We The People.
