I'm old enough to remember when New York Times backed other journalists, even ones they disagree with, instead of applicably celebrating and downplaying the concerns of Fox being sued for Libel. Considering their history, this is a bad sign for the future to see they've completely thrown out their integrity. I didn't see the Freedom of the Press Foundation then. I thought they might have disbanded or something.

We have "progressed" past the need for objective news reporting. How lucky are we to have evolved into a culture that benefits from services that do our thinking for us for free*!

I'm NOT old enough to know whether the actual fascists back in the 1920s/30s were like this, but my guess is they started like this and quickly got much worse and that will likely happen again.

The Trump presidency was the most profitable and prosperous this wretched country has been, well, ever.
