Well at least we can still talk about Zionists, who are the real seat of power anyway. The Zionists sure love to hide behind the Jews, they use them like a shield to take all the hits, like this legislation basically implies.

In many ways, few have abused the Jews more than the Zionists, all for the sake of profit and power. Half of US Jews reject Zionism according to polls.

Then also in the US there are many Christian Zionists, aka the "Israel-first" people.

The result is legislation like in your post. And the people of America get left behind, while our tax dollars get sent to Israel or conducting wars for Israel's benefit. I am tired of it, and it will end eventually.

This bill requires the Department of State to include in its Annual Report on International Religious Freedom information about each European country where there have been particularly significant threats or attacks against Jewish persons or institutions. The report shall include information about the security needs of such Jewish communities, U.S. efforts to partner with European law enforcement agencies and civil society groups, European public awareness initiatives to promote pluralism and tolerance, and efforts by European governments to adopt and apply a working definition of anti-Semitism.

So basically it generates official statistics about anti-semitic acts in Europe, for the US government to use to then justify action later.

Anti-semitism is a problem for in some places sure, but Jews are already such a protected class anyway and they're just generating statistics to ask for more protections because of the actions of a few lone individuals. Especially when many anti-semitic acts have come to light as being perpetuated by Jews themselves because it benefits them to get the help and protection that come as a result of the apparent victimization.

Knowing this kind of taints the way I look at laws like this. Is there a similar law for Christians? Or Buddhists? Or Atheists? Why or why not? I think these would be things worth researching and thinking about if we were to pursue this particular issue more deeply.

It might be a good idea to keep an eye on that which was a precursor to the deadliest war in history. Germany wasn't a few lone individuals. The xenophobia in the U.S. is not a few lone individuals, either. This is dangerous shit.

How about this: we agree to try to defend the rights of everybody to be free from persecution? Instead of arguing "oh, these people have more protection; we should attack them more to make up for it" which some people actually say,we should be trying to raise the standard for everyone else and to make these sorts of laws less necessary.

I see what you're saying, but antisemitism has historical significance, and is especially dangerous. It's a bit like saying "all lives matter" in the face of a problem that is effecting particular lives, not all of them. It's a disingenuous call for inclusiveness that downplays the significance of both the victims and the problem. It's adding insult to injury.

You're not going to be able to convince this crowd that that historical significance isn't an elaborate hoax, unfortunately. (By "this crowd", I don't mean all Saidit users; you know who I mean.) I'm trying to trick 'em into tolerance by leveraging the inconsistencies in their belief systems, but I'm no expert in doing this. I do know that making them confront the cognitive dissonance head-on makes them double down on whatever you're confronting them about, so I'm trying to avoid that.

… Wait… A plan is forming— no, too risky. (This is a note for future me, when I'm reviewing this comment at a later date, so I know why not to do the thing I've thought of. It wouldn't be ethical.)

You might complain about B, and I don't think I'd be able to convince you not to. I'm certainly not going to bother with D (either you don't need convincing or you wouldn't be convinced by anything I say), and I do think E is slightly badly worded.

However, A and C are definitely things I can get behind, and I'm pretty sure I can defend them even to this audience:

  • Even if there's a secret club that only recruits Jews and wants to take over the world, that doesn't mean that Dave's responsible just because he's also Jewish. I mean seriously.
  • Killing people is bad. Hurting people is bad. Even killing Hitler would be bad, if you could avoid it. (I can elaborate on "if you could avoid it" if need be.)

And honestly? The real failure is not that this law was passed. It's that this law was necessary.

I'm an idiot. I noticed that I was confused. What I should've done is this:

  • Ok, I'm confused.
  • There's no reason for the US government to do this like this. It doesn't align with their interests to produce a sloppily-worded law.
  • Therefore,
    • either their interests are different to what I thought they were…
    • or they didn't do this.
  • This evidence is pretty strong – a law being passed with wording as soft as (E)…
  • Wait. This is a screenshot. Maybe I should check the actual law…

I admit I almost fell for it, but also found it strange considering the US strong pro-free speech culture. u/HopeThatHalps really came through on this.

I had expected to have left this type of thing on reddit's echo-chambers, but it seems there's a lot of radical conspiracists here too. ...well, it's the internet in general lately, it was supposed to be the information highway, instead it became the information check point where rather then providing free information it tries to manipulate it.

I'm glad this passed. Either this 'law' will be struck down in the near future by the Supremes, or it'll become dead certain that everything it's supposed to be 'defending us from' is in fact a genuine threat.

i can see them saying it's not cool to say jews are responsible for imagined wrongdoings, as in libel or slander and things that aren't true, but it's messed up this says it's also illegal to say they are responsible for real wrongdoing, so even if it's proven you can't say it? They cast the spell on their own as well? It seems that tons of atheist secular Jews still do a whole bunch of Jew shit like observing major Jewish holidays. I think these folks consider it to be part of their race/ethnic identity/some kind of tradition. But yeah it seems to be unique to Jews, whatever this is we're discussing, a double standard. They would say non-Christians do the same with Christmas.

If you research Jews in high places, yes, they outnumber gentiles based on total population and the mean of their population, espeically as directors of banks, and for a long time owners and CEO's of banks. HOWEVER, in aintiguity Jews could not hold property and ROME used Jews as their moneyholders, bankers, rentiers, etc., Rememebr, Jews created the Jubilee years which was great for annuling debts. They put it straight into mosaic law/. Still, to this day, if you look at international banking it is a mix of Jews, catholics, atheists, etc., however, in the US it appears they are mostly Jews who are the directors or commerical banks like GOldman Sachs, and AIG, both these banks personal usually go on to become world bank directors, or are hand picked by presidents such as Bush, Obama and now Trump. They also are overrepresented in media but a large margin based on the total population of Jews. Like crazily overrepresented. ALL TV news agencies are owned by Zionists, 5 of the 6 companies are Jews.

(E) is crazy. This is a crazy law, something that we saw in the Soviet Union when the Bolsheviks took control. It WILL get worse if we don't shoot this bill down.

Not sure about your stats use in the first paragraph, but I'd like to address the Soviet Union thing.

  • Just because the Soviet Union thought the sky was blue, doesn't mean it isn't; reversed stupidity isn't intelligence. (Otherwise, you could just find a really stupid person, ask them about the stock markets and then do the opposite of what they said and make a killing.)

Just because the Bolsheviks did something doesn't mean it was wrong. They thought people eating was a good idea, and espoused ending WWI. If you did the opposite of what the Bolsheviks did, you'd fail even faster than they did and make more ethically wrong decisions.

Also, this isn't a law. Scroll down a little, or even just look it up. The text of the law is taken out of context to imply a completely different meaning to that which exists in the original text.

Russification was sometimes the forced cultural assimilation of non-russian societies. This happened well before the October Revolution in imperial Russia as well as during the reign of Stalin in the Soviet Union. The Russian language replaced Yiddish and other languages as the main language of many Jewish communities too. However, reading '200 Years Together' most bolsheviks were not Zionists per say, many considered themselves atheistical Jews, who didn't adhere to Israel as their nationstate. You could consider them Internationalsit Jews. Stalin's geneology and even Hitlers, of which I researched is interesting because there's a possibility both more Jewish. 1/4 to 1/2 Stalin and Hitler possibly completely Jewish. Miles Mathis has a great research article on it and he'd send you the information by email of the geneologies. I find it interesting that Stalin hated Zionists. Of course he purged many of the bolsheviks later on. It should be noted that Hitler worked with some of the top Zionist officals at the World Zionist Organization, those Zionists, also made it clear that the National Socialist ideology is no different than the Zionsit ideology, in that internarige of other races is frowned upon, and each wants his own ethnostate. Many of those who surrounded Hitler were also Jewish.

That being said most of the Bolsheviks were ruthless thugs. The Red Terror and the Bolshevik political repression was comparable if not worse than the White Terror by the White Army (Russian and non-Russian groups opposed to Bolshevik rule, many of them Russia Christians). The Cheka (the Bolshevik secret police) carried out the repressions of the Red Terror. They would go into middle class neighborhoods killing thousands of people in their homes; Christians, Catholics, and anyone who didn't adhere to their revolution. The total number of victims of repression and pacification campaigns could be 1.3 million, whereas another gives estimates of 28,000 executions per year from December 1917 to February 1922. The most reliable estimations for the total number of killings put the number at over 100,000, whereas others suggest a figure of 200,000 and over.
