So the narrative is good and anything that criticizes that narrative is "hate speech?"

Not at all.

But you can certainly argue for hidden variable theories like Bohmian mechanics, despite it being fringe.

But we know that acknowledgement improves the suicidal ideation of transgender people, so speculating (without any academic expertise) that they don't exist is less likely to get a pass.

You can even argue against climate science, even though the greenhouse effect isn't questionable.

I don't know enough about Clarence Thomas to speak on that

The claim that city planning supporting pedestrians comes from a whole communist branch of government that is completely different from city planning supporting motor vehicles is ridiculous on the face of it. They're the same people.

tee hee.

Or should I interpret "LMAO" as your acceptance that vaccines decrease all cause mortality.

I read up a little bit on IgG4. "nothing to see here, we don't need to kill this" is not really the case, and it's also overstating our understanding. I does appear to be a response to reduce inflammation, which might be necessary since covid infection and (to a lesser extent) the covid vaccines are related to a small increase in myocarditis.

But no study has ever shown that the vaccine increases the susceptibility to the infection. The protection was well over 95% for the initial variants of CoVID against hospitalization and death from infection. Some of the variants that spread well later were ones that evaded a lot of that protection. But it never got close to zero, and certainly not negative.

I think that you're confusing anything against "the narrative" with hate speech.

The division is cultural and more driven by the left's insistence that everything is driven by demographics that only represent what we are not who we are

That sounds very straw-mannish. How would the left state that?

Clinton was a dick, it turns out. Pardoning his friends at the end of his presidency opened the door for Trump's selling all those pardons for $2M each.

Would you agree that Romney is significantly left of Trump?

It assumes that all Justices vote politics and ignore the law

The federalist society certainly has an agenda. There's some cases where they follow the law, but they're anti-woman, anti-intersex, anti-gay, and anti-separation of church and state, only in the case of Christianity.

The supreme court has never been corrupt, imo.

Barrett has spent virtually all of her professional life in academia. Until President Trump nominated her to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in 2017, she had never been a judge, never worked in the government as a prosecutor, defense lawyer, solicitor general, or attorney general, or served as counsel to any legislative body—the usual professional channels that Supreme Court nominees tend to hail from.

"Social Media is absolutely left leaning."

What's the evidence of that?

We're here because of that fact.

Aren't we an extreme right wing fringe, that supports the invasion of Ukraine, denies the existence of intersex people, and finds validation in the use of racial slurs?

And yes, after 2016, the divisiveness in this country amped up to 11. "RED or BLUE! You must choose."

Yeah. But while red had had a couple of presidents elected on a minority of votes, and that had slanted the supreme court right of the will of the people, it's not the side of politics that increased the division. It's the extreme practises. Terrorism. Insurgency. Nepotism. Corruption of Justice.

I was always left of center until then.

Which democratic presidents did you vote for?

When RBG was elected to the supreme court she was right in the centre. When she died she was the last one holding the left from the federalist society weirdos. America hasn't just edged slightly to the right.

Basically for all areas with any development to be walkable then all areas either have to be 100% non-developed or 100% developed, with no in between.

Are you saying that the only areas that are walkable are wilderness and buildings?

Because that's not true.

It's just not realistic for these lower density areas to be walkable, or just randomly cease to exist.

You can increase the walkability of suburbia by ensuring safe pedestrian infrastructure and providing shade and lighting. And by putting walking paths and small parks between streets to make the area more permeable and pleasant to pedestrians.

It can be done without dramatically increasing or eliminating population density.

Or are they going actually bulldoze entire counties worth of developed land to turn it into farm land?

Farmland isn't particularly walkable.

Nah, I need too many people to pray and not pray for a penny. And with opportunities like that, how would you prevent the control group from praying for a penny and not telling you about it?

The study is impossible to design.

You need something that people don't want for themselves so that you know that the control group won't cheat. Like peace in the middle east or the end of famines in Africa or South East Asia. I assume from the way that's not better now after the better part of 100 years that no one has prayed for any improvement in that.

The ones for covid have destroyed people's immunity

No if that happened, people who had been vaccinated would be dying like flies from other infections.

But the data shows that covid-19 vaccinations including the mRNA ones reduce all cause mortality.

It may well drive up ticket prices on airbus aircraft. But by the same token it will reduce demand and therefore cost for flying on a boeing.

[–]ActuallyNot 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That by itself doesn't really mean anything, if the parts are supposed to be able to handle such stresses

Damage adds up linearly. If you have to jump on it to get it to fit, you're maintenance schedule for that part will be behind its actual damage, and you risk the part failing prior to being replaced.

I can certainly imagine there is regulation, which would prescribe for every part of an airplane how installation should happen, but since some planes have millions of parts that seems unlikely.

The damage to every part down to every rivit of a plane is modelled to produce the maintenance schedule.

Zero hedge comes with quite a lot of spin.

The law wasn't voted down, it was altered so that solicitation of a 16 or 17 year old wouldn't be a crime in the case where the perpetrator didn't know and shouldn't have reasonably known that the victim was under 18. It's still rape or statutory rape to fuck them.

No this law is only about solicitation, which is currently illegal, but the penalty is only 2 days to 1 year minus one day. And it only applies if the perp knew or should reasonably have known that the victim was a minor.

Actually having sex with someone under 18 is still statutory rape in California. (Unless you're married to them). And if the perpetrator engaged in violence, physical force, threats, coercion, fraud or if they invoked a fear in the victim of retaliation or physical harm against themselves or another person, then it's still rape.

So, does this mean that pedophilia is now legal in California, as long as the sex is paid for, and it isn't actually a forcible rape?

No.

If you have sex with someone under 18 who isn't your spouse in California, you commit statutory rape, and will be liable for 2,3 or 4 years in prison, depending on the age difference.

If they were coerced by violence, duress, threats or fraud, (as I imagine would generally be the case in the case of child prostitution), then that is rape in California, which can get you up to 13 years in prison if the victim is a minor.

What the law would have done was to make solicitation of a minor, whether or not the person knew it was a minor, punishable by 2,3, or 4 years prison. Replacing a current less than 1 year sentence, that only applies if the person knew, or reasonably should have known that they were a minor.

It was modified to not include solicitation of 16 and 17 years olds.

Tbh, it's not obvious that solicitation of a minor should be a crime if the perpetrator didn't know and it's not the case that they reasonably should have known that they were soliciting a minor.

GDP is not an accurate barometer for prosperity.

No, it's a proxy. California does earn a lot of money though. And they pay their way, and covering the arse of those failed states. For every $1 paid in taxes, New Mexico gets $3.26 in federal funding. That's failure.

The homeless population per capita in Texas was 81 people for every 100,000 residents, compared to California’s 439 people.

Homeless population per capita is not an accurate barometer for failure of a state. It just means more people want to be there than there is available housing. Which refutes the premise of this thread.

It pays more federal tax than it receives in federal funding.

If all US states could fail like California, the federal government would have a surplus, and the country would be an economic powerhouse.

Or maybe prayer doesn't work, and if you want to do some good in the world, you have to get off your knees and actually do something yourself.

That's the most likely because the data doesn't support some prayers working, and god getting upset at being tested and so letting people suffer instead is too fragile an ego for the omniscient and all powerful. As well as being too spiteful for the all loving.
