There's no such thing as capitalism under totalitarianism. The gov just slowly take operational control (through laws/regulations, guidelines and direct pressure) while choosing how much money to keep and who wins or loses. An actual free market would not allow financial lobbying and would heavily restrict the ability for politicians to bounce from elected positions to corporate boards, back and forth.

Matter of fact, eliminating corporations altogether might be the purest form of a free market, because companies shouldn't have special legal protections that sole proprietorships don't have. Idk if this submission is honest or not, but I can confirm that racial and sex discrimination against whites and males in hiring is very high in white collar employment. Against non-LGBT people a bit too. I've been the hiring manager of maybe 20,000 applicants across four different companies in the last decade. Maybe 500 that made it through to actual interviews. About 80 or so hires. Three of the companies blatantly instructed us to give preference to non-whites, people who don't identify as males, and in one of those company, to LGBT. The one company that didn't do any of this was a blue collar type job. Two of the companies offer a bonus for the successful hire of a non-white, non-male.

The percentage of applicants did not reflect the demographics of the companies. They were more heavily weighted in favor of the non-white/non-male. E.g. we would have 90% male applicants, but 60% female employees. And for affirmative action to protect a company from racial discriminate against whites and sex discrimination against males, all the non-white/non-male needs is to meet the bare minimum qualifications.

Meanwhile the majority of the left, and many from other political leanings (like me) believe that gender is a social construct. If it's a social construct, then it is open to a person's own feelings and decisions. The left is also pushing more and more towards race being a social construct. And I get your point that race is much less rigid than sex, but it definitely isn't less rigid than gender. Especially when there IS a genetic component to race and zero genetic component to gender. But with that being said, the people claiming that race is a social construct, are going to have to accept that people will also be trans racial. As in, they identify with a race different than their genetics. Like trannies identify with a gender that doesn't match their biological sex.
