The rainbow flag was inclusive. The black and brown stripes makes it look like we weren’t inclusive to people of colour. The trans will place themselves where they shouldn’t be.

I hate this flag and how it makes us LGB seem extremely exclusive in the past.

The new pride flag also isn't terribly good from a creative standpoint. The rainbow itself was meant to be symbolic, in that it's all the colors of the visible spectrum, thereby representing everyone in the LGB community regardless of ethnic background or skin color.

The new flag is far less subtle and more literal. It's not good from an artistic standpoint. You've got literal skin colors represented on there now; okay, so what about people who are neither white nor brown? Native americans or other cultures, are they supposed to be offended by the lack of a tan color representation or something? Are they supposed to be satisfied by the rainbow portion? Eventually some complaint like that, ridiculous as it sounds, is going to come up again, and they'll decide the flag needs to be remodeled.

The point of the abstract rainbow was it encompassed everyone from the get go, without literally needing to have skin tone colors in it to get the point across. The new flag is meant to be a bludgeon, with all the subtlety of a wrecking ball.

Yup. It's a crime against design.

Yep. The original Rainbow Coalition was headed by Jesse Jackson (Sr) in Chicago and was meant to be a coalition of people of ALL colors fighting for racial justice. They didn't have a flag, but "rainbow" simply denoted all colors of the visible spectrum.

It feels like a dick raping the flag. Like the trans lesbians trying to rape our movement with their girldicks.

It very much does have a "penetrating" feel to it. I hate it.

Fuck, you're right. Now I can't get that imagery out of my head.

Not only that, it also looks like it's tearing everything apart. Not sure if intentional.

Good way of putting it, that flag looks like the t part is taking over too - the rainbow flag is good as is

Life imitating art, art imitating life. Lol

It is ugly. The new part is encroaching on the flag itself. The original stood for something to the original LGB.

Thanks I hate it

The new flag is dumb. Also, we don’t need 9 million flags, if we are going to unite it should be under the same flag and the rainbow was perfect.

The trans flag is straight up toys r us, the lesbian flag looks like bacon so all the vegans probably viscerally hate it, and adding black and brown is dumb because duh, black people and brown people are not blackly or brownly homosexual, they are homos and bisexuals like we all are. Lol. We could just all get to know each other better instead of putting up stripes and acting like we solved anything.

I think it perfectly symbolizes how divided we are in the lgbt.

Last time this was on Reddit I said the same thing so I will repeat it.

A whole bunch of modern day activism can be put at the feet of white women. I get that there's weirdo dudes wanting to fuck lesbians with their ladydick but the mainstream people cheering this on are white women.

I don't it matters all that much, I don't really like this racial/gender "tit for tat" but anybody who's been in these movements or these protests can tell you the overwhelming amount of white women who occupy these spaces.

... it honestly looks like the trans is in the process of creeping up above and covering pride. Do the people who made this read from left to right and have ever heard of the concept of a forwards arrow ?

You cannot make this shit up.

I have the original pride flag as my Twitter pic and some TRA told me Gilbert Baker, the creator of the pride flag, would be disappointed that I didn't use the more inclusive flag. I said I think he'd be more disappointed that his flag was replaced with an ugly one that makes no sense.

They went on to say I was probably racist because I didn't want the new flag. Okay.
