We've seen the TRAs movement rise, and we can separate and recognize the elements that caused it to happen.

1) STRAIGHT MALE IDENTITY CRISIS: we all know about this one. Slowly but steadily, gender roles lost their importance in the society of the XX century. This was welcome for women, who found themselves more free than they ever were, but much less welcome for men, who found their gender importance lessened for the first time in human history. This is how some men, realizing that women now live like men, decided they would live like women - thus denying women's existence. Of course, in any society where women are still second rate citizen, not even the gayest trans would ever want to identify as a woman.

2) PANDEMIC + ECONOMICAL DISTRESS. This one is much less obvious, isn't it? But that's how it is. That's the real reason the TRAs movement is exploding. We're in a period of social crisis, and if you look at history, what happens in every social crisis is that humans are going to look for a scapegoat to blame. And that scapegoat to blame is often related to sex and/or women. Instinctively, we blame "sexual deviants" for the problems of our society - which is why there's a rise of homophobia and mysoginism disguised as a trans movement. Keep in mind it's not always about sex: sure, in medieval times women would be burned as witches whenever there was a pandemic, but for example when Germany went into a horrible economical crisis and they saw (or thought they saw) the Jews making money, they started blaming them for the economical crisis until they were the scapegoat. Learn this: whenever there's a crisis, humans can't wait to blame it on a group.

3) TRIBAL NATURE OF HUMANITY. By our nature, our species is tribal. But right now, our tribes are in shambles: with globalization, it's no longer hip or acceptable to hate your neighbour or to discriminate because of language spoken or skin colour. And this is why 10000 sexual orientations were invented. They're not sexual orientations, obviously. They're tribes. Young people are inventing tribes they can belong to, because another bad thing our brain does is needing an "us vs them" mentality. So we need to define who is "us" and who is "them". Failing a racial or language identification, all what's left is coming up with sexual identification. So we've got kids inventing sexualities to form groups and to find the not-part-of-the-group people.

Don't forget about the rise of porn. It's easily available to anyone with a free internet connection now and you can find the weirdest most abnormal shit in mere minutes, no matter how young you are. Even as late as the 2000-2005 era porn wasn't THIS ubiquitous. Prior to the 2000's people were still depending on magazines and videos to see porn, and there were porn channels on the TV. But most people had lives, porn wasn't their hobby. Autogynephilia is a sickness of coomers whose entire life revolves around porn.

In my country and many other Middle Eastern and Asian Muslim countries, porn is illegal and difficult to access by regular people and... Huge coincidence, there is no such thing as autogynephiles or teenage girls who think they are gay boys. You only have a handful of trans people who are of the "I always knew I was trans even when I was still a sperm in my daddy's nutsack!" type, which has nothing to do with porn use. It's some kind of childhood mental illness. The trans people you hear about from Iran are of this type. There is no such thing as becoming trans so you can satisfy your fetish of becoming gay/lesbian in these countries. Once you transition, you better only be attracted to the opposite sex of whatever you transitioned to.

Marginalized men and men not on top got their benefits from this too. For example - wearing red or pink shirts became acceptable, not being buffed and not drinking alcohol is acceptable too, and many other sex bluring lines that made regular men life easier.

However, men in power (and loosers who are dreaming to be men in power) very strongly disliked whole situation, as it bluring lines among who can hold power as well. And they don't want to lose their power. Some of those men are gay themselves, but still heavily attacking LGB community and feminism.

2)

It is becoming worse and worse right now, yes, but it all started long years before pandemic or crisis. Around 10-15 years ago it was already showing on surface. While around 3 years ago TRA received huge fundings, it became advertised, and in few years transgender quantity increased by thousands percents. Maybe it has something to do that Trump is very weak person and anyone can do anything around him, and he will not stop them, unless it effects him personally or appearing in his Twitter feed. And whole his campaign was about masculinity and racism, raising up far-right wing and all kinds of radicals, including far-left ones. Or maybe it is not related, and just coincidence.

In addition to that: technology is developing faster than society is adjusting to it. Society and peoples mentality are still on the level of feudal times.

Late-stage capitalism and transhumanism are big factors. I really think this is the canary in the coal mine of impending Western civilization collapse. It's all downhill from here.

Straight Male Identity Crisis. Maybe, but I don't really buy this with regards to trans radicals. If anything it lead to pushback against Intersectional Feminism. Camille Paglia has some interesting thoughts on the matter. I'm a moderate leftie, but I.F. is actually where I first noticed this weird cognitive dissonance on the left; demonstrably false claims, a "blank slate" approach to gender and oppression Olympics madness that resulted in this outright refusal to address the rampant homophobia within Islam, even in the west.

I attribute the current mess to the rise of Intersectionality and far left, hyperpartisan politics. You can actually track this political swing in the US: https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/interactives/political-polarization-1994-2017/

The right have shifted too, but not as much and we're seeing huge declines in moderates. Though it's interesting that you've mentioned WW2. There's no shortage of thinly-veiled Jew bashing amongst the far left these days.

Nah, that's more like a bully who beats up another student because they want attention. They don't really believe the Jew thing; they just desperately want attention by doing something bad. Nazism was a very different thing, those people genuinely HATED the Jews as they considered them the scapegoat for their problems.

Furthermore: America. Americans don't really know what World War 2 and nazism was. They didn't experience it first hand. They just showed up and won when everybody else was spent and on their knees.

This was going strong before the pandemic, I think the pandemic has just led to more people being home and having time to kill on the internet. Thus more idiot posting by trans activists and also reactive postings by gender critical people.

My own personal idea about why this is happening is that after gay marriage was approved in the US there were all these gay rights organizations with nothing to do, and they didn't want to go do anything else so they reorganized around trans issues. Problem is there isn't any issue, trans people aren't discriminated against in any serious way like homosexuals are. So its all about "inclusion" and literally making up statistics to show that they're oppressed. I think the reason is basically porn, imo guys fall into sissy pornland and want to transition to live out their fetish 24/7, and women either want to live out their mlm ships in the first person or don't fit the stereotype of the pornified girl image and thus think they're a guy. It seems like gender roles are a lot more strict then when I was a kid. I'm gen x, gender neutral clothes for kids and toys and so on was much bigger deal when I was a kid, nowdays everything is strictly segregated and it seems bizarre.

This is older than the pandemic an economic stress. I agree with the tribal aspect but not the globalization aspect. I don't think equality for women makes straight guys want to be women.

Listening to Megan Murphy, she mentioned that gender studies today isn't the same as when she was in school. I think the schools are teaching the critical gender/queer theory stuff, the post modern intersectional stuff that had to rip everything apart and force the "marginalized" trans community into it. In the oppression Olympics trans have the most marginalized identity, even over women, and libfems (whatever wave of feminism that is) bought into it and are pushing it along with the woke members of LGBT. Its taught in schools for awhile and not its moved out into the mainstream because they have so many enables, both lgb and heterosexuals. Combine that with the transmed narrative, that trans are people suffering with an illness and just want to quiety transition to the opposite end of the binary. Thats what most heteros think trans are, not realizing its so many trenders and agp and non dysphoric and non binary and cross-dressers. This is a far left issue coming from academia. Pride was canceled (due to covid ) where I liv but they had a large BLM approved black trans lives matter gathering was fine... because the far left says trans woman are women and even more marginalized than natal women and we have to support that now.
