Why LGB and TQ+ should no longer be part of the same organization. LGB news, concerns, history, and/or personal affairs. Other topics must demonstrate applicability towards LGB or "dropping the T".

This kind of post would be better for s/GenderCritical or s/ThereAreTwoGenders

Ooh, disabled people got a mention in the midst of all that nonsense. That's quite rare. I've been thinking of writing a post about how 'kweer' and trans ideology tramples all over disabled people but idk where to post it.

Here, of course! I'd like to read it! Just tie it in to LGB somehow so it's sub-relevant.

Here's the thing. 'Nonbinary' is such a vague concept, I can argue that all of us, or at least most of us here would qualify as 'nonbinary' under these definitions. And because such a huge population of the world is non-binary (whether the individual human realizes and admits it or not) assuming people are 'cis' calling them 'cis' especially calling them 'cis' in a derogatory way and discriminating against them on the basis of being 'cis' is wrong and toxic.

I know I'm talking nonsense using gibberish words, but stay with me for a minute.

Imagine you're a woman, you were never really too attached to your gender, you were a tomboy, blah blah blah. You would technically qualify as nonbinary of you cared enough to, but you don't because you have a life, and none of this shit is interesting to you. How do you feel when someone points at you, calls you 'cis' and defines 'cisgender' as:

denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender corresponds with their birth sex.

And you're sitting there like... "I don't have a sense of personal identity and gender WTF are you talking about?"

But no, you are guilty of being 'cis' because you never stood up and said you were 'nonbinary.'

But being 'nonbinary' isn't special or unique, just like being 'demisexual' isn't special or unique. It's the natural state for most people. They are just human beings born in male or female bodies who are living their lives, sometimes conforming to gender norms and sometimes not. This does not require a special word or identity.

I don't know, I'm babbling, I hope someone figures out my point for me.

I completely get what you're saying. I literally don't feel like a woman at all, I feel like myself. Everyone feels like themselves. Gender is no more a feeling than having blue eyes is a feeling, it's simply a biological fact. If we were all treated differently based on our eye colour, we'd feel a certain way about it, perhaps even wishing we had a different eye colour so we can be treated in a different way. If males and females were treated exactly the same, it would become just another characteristic that no more defines a person than any other part of their biology.

Yes! Thank you! I was talking and talking and lost the thread about what I was trying to say, but this is it!

That's the great thing about the internet. I never have to treat anyone like a man or a woman, because it's all words on a screen to me. Everyone gets treated the same (unless I find out they are kids/teens, then I try to be super-gentle.)

In this way there 0 "cis" people in the world. No one is fully following stereotypes. Whole world is non-binary!

Sex is binary, it is given by the mechanisms of reproduction. The rest are private whims, fancies or partialities that everybody has right to have if he/she doesn't bother and harras other people because of it.
