Yeah, I'm over there too. Seems the audience is split maybe 50-50, which is honestly an encouraging ratio in this day & age. A number of regular posters are willing to call out the homophobia of TRA and have been providing receipts. Still no shortage of quislings, but the message is at least getting out there. Waiting for the site to get brigaded or discovered & coerced into rightthink.

The interface confuses the heck out of me. Anonymous posting is possible and widely-used, so it's difficult/inefficient to respond directly to someone or synthesize their arguments over time. I know there's a block function that some people have used to piece together post histories from anonymous posters. Too much work for me. And the moderation is a complete mystery. Strange site, but I'm happy it's there.

I've been lurking on Datalounge for way too long; they're not split 50/50 on the T issue. There are a few vehement pro-T posters who post and post and post utter baloney on all the Drop the T type threads, making it seem like there are more trans fans on Datalounge than there are.

The elder gays on Datalounge had the Ts' number from when the T first started infiltrating LG (B was not a distinct letter at first. It was actually just "gay rights").

I wish there could be some kind of gay oral history project about who actually fought for gay rights, so that the TQ+++ could not be allowed to so easily appropriate and colonize (to use their own terms) gay struggles and history.

Also, posters on Datalounge have claimed that the site's owners get ad money from LGBT organizations, which is why the owners sometimes shut down discussions on how the TQ +++ are affecting LGB rights.

I've been a regular poster there for years now and what you've said is right on the money, specially the part about a handful of T trolls infiltrating threads. There is a particularly vicious troll who will derail any and all discussions that are remotely critical of the T by flooding it with responses and trying to shift the discussion. He has gone as far as to attack a thread that was covering a story about a Moroccan transsexual who was directly responsible for the suicides of multiple gay men.

I know who you mean about the fanatic T activism defender. He's a gay man who had some kind of office job, but spends all his spare time on the Datalounge.

He descends on trans threads within minutes to obfuscate or talk nonsense to try to get people to ignore or get bored by the T threads. Also to make it look like trans activists have more supporters on the Datalounge then they do. He also uses quotes excessively and used to used "LOL" "Cupcake" and "Dear" in his responses.

Although the trans troll truly hates women, ironic given how much he LURVS wannabe women, and seems to loathe lesbians, he's extremely politically correct on other threads and attempts to shut down any discussion that doesn't go his alt-Left way. Anyone who disagrees with him he calls a "Russian Troll" or Boris or a conservative. He's pretty much made political discussion impossible on the DL, which is sad because I used to learn a lot from them.

He wants to make it seem like anyone who sees through trans activist bullshit is trying to divide LGBT, even if they're a lesbian or gay man themselves. It's really odd that a gay man, and I do think that he's a gay man, would spend years of his life defending trans activism from other gay men and lesbians.

However, many others on the Datalounge are gay men and lesbians vehemently opposed to trans activism and they would be very useful allies in LGB efforts to drop the T.

See that's the thing then: The anonymous posting is a double-edged sword. On one hand, I appreciate the candidness it allows with none of the doxxing typical of reddit, twitter, etc. But on the other hand, when every single is by "anonymous", you can't get a true feel for demographics or consensus. Like I said, I think you can play games with the block feature and deduce which posts go together, but that's too much work for me. It's fine, they shouldn't change the format but the site does have a certain learning curve.

I did notice the T thread started today has been vanished. Don't know which side crossed a line.

The Ts brigade any Datalounge thread about the Ts; as you've no doubt noticed, trans activists don't like scrutiny because if people look too closely the insanity is glaring.

There's a F&F button that used to be accessible by anyone but is now only available to the registered. If enough people push it, or if enough people with sock puppet accounts push it (looking at you, trans activists), the thread will be greyed out or deleted.

The Ts use the F&F button to shut down discussion of trans activism, and random trans craziness, on the Datalounge. Sounds familiar?

I'm pretty sure said troll must be Adrian Harrop.

I don't think so because he's very invested in US politics. He's destroyed the Datalounge's political threads with his Far Far Far Far Left screeds and constant accusations of "Russian troll." It's a shame because the political threads used to be enjoyable and informative; some DL posters are very intelligent, and thought outside-the-box, so there were some great debates.

What is Datalounge?

It's a forum for gay men, which tolerates lesbians more or less, that's been around since the 1990s. Many of the posters are smart and educated and quite a few are funny. I almost always learn something when I lurk on there.

Some of the older Dataloungers have been onto the T taking over LGB since it started happening years ago. They call out the T bullshit as only catty elder gays can.

Did I mention that they're often very funny?

Oh - to add - The Datalounge was where I learned about the Trans Demand Activists' threat to women's rights, also about what a gaseous bag of nonsense Queer Theory is, and also how Trans Demands Activists are rewriting gay history, especially Stonewall.

A lot of the Datalounge posters are living gay history books. Cranky and hilarious living gay history books...

No, but you're unable to post during peak posting hours without a paid account.
