This might seem small, but honestly-- I've started using the term LGB. When chatting casually with people. If you start getting people used to it I think that will help, in and of itself. Fortunately, most of my acquaintance are not invested in or even aware of transgender ideology, so they don't care at all if I say LGB as opposed to LGBT.

edit: Also, I think showing people the misinformation and homophobia that the transgender activists are spreading, is really important. Most people don't know about it.

Here's a post that I made with links to tons of screenshots and other evidence of trans people being homophobic. https://saidit.net/s/LGBDropTheT/comments/5x6k/trans_people_and_trans_rights_activists_being/

I plan on showing these to my friends.

Groups like the LGB alliance are a good start. Several countries have followed suit in that regard. Would be nice if we had such a group in America.

It's good to know they have started, but are there any ways we can get involved? I'll go take a look at some places' websites.

Yeah idk I'm not really sure. I'd really like to see if there's anyone interested in making an American version. I'd def donate to them.

Send a DM with your email to LGB Alliance on Twitter.

Holy shit, you really NG? Welcome! I read your tweets and blog.

Yeah, we've got to found alternative organizations that make strong, unambiguous statements: We only advocate for Lesbians, or Gay men, or Bisexual persons. We do not identify as "queer" or as an alphabet soup. We do not buy into Gender Woo Woo and sexual orientation fluidity. We do not support the disregard of biological sex. Our territory needs to be clearly marked out, and we can't be shy about correcting people's wrong assumptions. Start by saying things like: "I'm a Lesbian, I'm not a queer woman. Call me by the right name."

"Queer" used to be the slur yelled just before the beating started. I still get a shiver of revulsion when I hear it.

I grew up in a Black community where the Q-word was seldom used. The preferred insults for Gay people were "faggot" and "bulldyke". I was also called "bitch" and "pussy" more times than I care to remember. We were aware of the word "queer", though. It was used by White people in reference to pedophiles. I've told this to people as an explanation for why I don't ever want to be called "queer", only to have them double down on it. It's the very same thing that happens when you ask not to be called "cis". These new young "activists" think it's their job to shove it down your throat! I don't suppose they'd like it if I insisted on calling them Left-wing fascists? I think I'll try it.

I forgot that "queer" was also used to mean pedophile.

It just shows how the people running the LGBTQ+++++ show these days have no respect for the G especially (I never heard an L being called "queer," more "dyke") and what gay men, still relative young gay men, have been through.

Talk about appropriation. The TQ +++ activists have no friggin' clue, nor do they care, about the hard work of the gays and lesbians whose shoulders they are standing on, even as they crush LG.

And sorry I'm not mentioning the B as a separate entity -from my memories, the B was not separated by a distinct letter from L and G in the late 70-early 80s: the B were just part of what was referred to as "gay rights" when things were still very bad for homosexuals. I could be not remembering it correctly, though.

No, you're correct. Bisexual visibility was just starting to happen, and it was barely spoken of as an orientation.

You are also correct that these young smartasses don't know or care about what came before. I don't know what disturbs me most about them: Their antipathy for feminists? Their clueless embrace of harmful stereotypes? Their disrespect for older activists? Or their fascist tendencies?

Honestly at this point it feels like we are just waiting for them to drop us. Please drop us and stay the fuck back, TQ.

They never will. They have gained so much ground on the backs of the gay rights movement.

[–]SedateApe 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

They can't and won't. Those "rights" they claim to have are the rights that the LGB fought for and won. By tacking their TQ+WTF shit onto the LGB community they can umbrella our rights as their rights.

Once there is a separation of the two groups, and there will be, then they will have to struggle for their own rights. And that's a battle they know they won't be able to win.

Comment to corporate HR in employment settings that you don't feel comfortable/understand why the causes are being conflated

[–]BEB 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

This is such a great idea!

Also relatively safe, because as a LGB yourself, you can leverage your relative immunity to criticism in these contexts. Fighting fire with fire isn't always the best idea, but hey...if its already burning and there are torches just lying around...

  • Insist on the truth.
  • Stop playing pronoun and word games.
  • Let people know your viewpoint.

Eh, I agree 100%, but this overt approach might not benefit you at work. Hide your power level and play the HR system, pushing where you find openings. If it were as simple as just refuting the crap publicly, we'd have seen the end of this problem a decade ago.

[–]notdelusionalbased faggot 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

True. When encountering trans identifiers at work, one must avoid interacting with them to the fullest extent possible that doesn't impact getting the job done. Nothing more, nothing less. Never refer to a trans identifier at work with any pronoun, just use their name when referring to them in third person.
