I like how he talks about working class initiatives as if all gay white men are millionaires when that's just not true

That’s another thing people like him deny. The fact that most people, including most gay white men, are working class at best. And people in this category are getting poorer because of Covid. No amount of so-called white privilege or male privilege or gay privilege will compensate for the economic hardships most gay white men are experiencing right now.

Something "hilarious" happened in my country weeks ago. Gay guy on Twitter complains about straight guy being homophobic towards him.

People (especially the TQ+) started attacking the gay guy because he's cis and white. They assumed the straight guy was poor and black, and assumed the gay guy was rich and was being elitist and racist for complaining about the "oppressed" guy's homophobia.

In the end of the day the straight guy was white and had more money than the gay guy, so the TQ+ crowd decided it was ok for the gay guy to complain. Of course, this only happened after the gay guy had already been attacked and threatened by lots of people. And hell, even if the straight guy was black and poor, this doesn't negate the homophobia nor the gay guy's right to share what happened to him.

I honestly hate this 'hate' that TQ+ perpetuates towards gay men. If only they left gays and lesbians alone (and sane bisexual people)

That is horrible. I feel so sorry for that gay man. What country was this? And did the TQ+ crowd get any backlash

I must also add, that it is extremely dangerous that these groups promote victim hood. All this does is prevent people from wanting to better themselves and reaching their goals in life.

It's interesting that he says to support "working class initiatives" as if white gay men can't be working class. When he created his "white cis gay men" scarecrow he didn't even bother to add "upper class".

As a white, "cis", gay man, I'll say this: it's not my fault this cretin's life is miserable. He doesn't get to speak for people like me while he's actively discriminating against people like me. He's a racist, a homophobe and a sexist, yet he whines about discrimination.

Jerk.

Amen to that!

Isn't it weird how the interests of a group that made a group to advocate for said interests, doesn't line up with the interests of those who tacked themselves onto it?

The "transbians" could always marry their female partners, because to the law they're a straight couple. Same to the straight queer couples, to the "heteroromantic asexuals", etc. Of course a huge achievement like being legally able to marry won't trickle down to them, because they already had it.

I wonder, on the other hand, which achievements in equality the TQ+ are getting that reach the vulnerable members of gay and lesbian communities.

well, being born male, it's nice to know in some places I have the right to use the bathroom of my choice. I've been holding it in for decades.

In our country transgenders can easily get married or live in civil union. No homosexual couple can do either, homosexual marriage will be only accepted by international law, if couple was married in the other country.

"tacked" is right. Here's an article about how that happened, featuring a transbian judge.

Here's one paragraph I found rather telling:

"In the court of public opinion, with the marriage equality campaign moving toward success, a climate of acceptance was growing and extending from sexuality to gender identity. “Suddenly people liked us,” Ms. Keisling said."

And this part is just😑

"Ms. Parker, who coached a lesbian softball team, looked over at the strapping, 5-foot-10 woman beside her and thought, “I really need a power hitter.

What is this magical, prejudice-free world TQ thinks “cis” white gays live in? The recently posted graphic about violence among “LGBT” people indicated American gay men suffer more hate crimes than lesbians, bisexuals, and trans people combined. Plus, you’d have to be blind to miss the stigma placed on gay men in pretty much every society.

Idk they just kind of make up reality as they go along I think. In their wee world all "cis white" gay men are living in a big fancy house in an affluent suburb and oppressing the blue haired people with made up identities.

[–]MezozoicGayoldschool gay 11 insightful - 7 fun11 insightful - 6 fun12 insightful - 7 fun -  (0 children)

Maybe they are looking in the mirror? Majority of new-wave transwomen are all from midle or high-middle class from first world countries.

[–]julesburm1891 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

As someone who just bought a suburban home, I’m dying. I suppose it’s my duty to oppress the blue-hairs now.

[–]8bitgay[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

For sure, being white doesn't shield you from all other oppressions. Especially since homophobia comes so often from within your own family. Even if you have a famly that supports your sexuality, you'll probably face homophobia at school, at work, in your neighborhood, etc.

And even if being white shielded you from all oppressions, then he should have said "equality for white LGBTQ+". Even if he wanted to mention only cis men, then are all cis LGBTQ+ gay? How does being white shield gay men from homophobia in a way that doesn't shield bi men or asexual men?

Of course I don't agree with his view, nor would I actually use the LGBTQ+ acronym. But even if you try to be generous with his point of view, it's still inconsistent and very at targeting gay men. This all shows that his tweet wasn't ever about racism or class. Hell, it isn't even about supporting non-gay LGBTQ+. His main point is attacking gay men, and he carefully chose words to do that.

Honestly it feels almost sad to say this stuff here because the people who really should be comfronted about it aren't here.

I am very tired of people forgetting that gay men are STILL OPPRESSED. Gay men STILL have the highest amount of hate crimes committed against them than literally any other LGBT group. Yet people constantly forget this so they can play oppression olympics.

[–]hufflepuff-poet 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

This. On top of that, most trans hate crimes are committed because of HOMOPHOBIA and MISOGYNY.

He then followed up with a reply saying...

As always Twitter word count is my demise. The list goes on: sex workers, indigenous folk, intersex folk, people who have experienced homelessness, religious and cultural minorities, people living with disabilities, and many more.

...because white cis gay men have never been sex workers, homeless, religious or cultural minorities or had disabilities.

[–]8bitgay[S] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Religious minorities? Really? Did he really have the nerve to say that after what he said about gay men? Talking about supporting religion in this context almost seems like a bad joke. Ah yeah, gay men are the big mean oppressors, meanwhile religious people are the ones being oppressed.

and many more

I love how "many more" are worthy of being "supported" but not gay men.

Does this person not realize that it is gay cis people who the gender lobby hide behind in order to advance their own demands?

On the plus side, when the backlash against gender ideology hits, maybe white gay cis men will be spared?

[–]8bitgay[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Does this person not realize that it was gay people who got him his rights and it was gay people who the gender lobby hid behind in order to advance their own demands?

I mean, either he doesn't (and he won't believe it if pointed out), or he pretends to not know.
