The hurdles some trans men and gender-nonconforming people who menstruate say they face include the high cost of period supplies, lack of access to the products, safety concerns and inadequate medical care.

Also

Some transgender and gender-nonconforming people who menstruate, like Jones, say when the products are categorized as women’s products, they can feel alienated — and may even avoid purchasing them altogether.

So the products ARE accessible, you just don't want to fucking use them because it's not in a color you like. ffs. All the other issues are faced by women, too, none of us like our periods! Of course I'd be happier if I didn't have to bleed like a murder victim five days a month every month, or constantly worry about if I've stained myself or if people can hear my mega overnight pad crinkling inside my jeans, or have cramps, or anything of the numerous things that transmen and nb "afab" people say doesn't "justify" them having periods!

Also this fucking paragraph is just delusion or sheer uneducatedness, or both, at its best

“I didn’t believe that having periods would be a part of my lived experience,” Jones told NBC News. “I felt isolated; everything about periods was tailored to girls, yet me, a boy, was experiencing this and nothing in the world documented that.”

Woody voice: YOU! ARE! A! WOMAN!!

You're still a fucking toy even if you think and believe you're a real space ranger!!

What a fucking first world problem. That's literally like a toddler having a tantrum.

"We don't have access to these products"

"But there's loads of them, right here!"

"I WON'T BUY THEM BECAUSE THERE'S A VENUS SYMBOL ON THE PACKAGE AND THIS TRIGGERS ME"

This is also extra disgusting knowing that there are countless homeless women & women in other countries who genuinely DON'T have access to menstrual products. This just reinforces my belief that transgender people are extreme narcissists, totally incapable of empathy and considering the feelings and problems of others.

Women have exactly the same problems (especially in second and thirdl world countries), why not think about women, hm?!

you just don't want to fucking use them because it's not in a color you like. ffs.

When in some countries women don't have any of those and locked into non-sanitarized "menstruation huts", they are here "I don't want to buy, because it is pink, and I want blue" and somehow they are talked about, but women who doesn't even have such luxury - are not having any problems in eyes of the Woke.

It's because they get harassed or feel embarassed/threatened for buying "women's products" while appearing/presenting male.

Re: feeling embarrassed/threatened: Then either "man up" and buy these basic necessities anyway, or DON'T and just bleed all over the damn place for all I care! Only please, for the love of GOD: shut up about yer precious fee-fees for ONCE! (Shouldn't flowery-type packaging be a perfect fit for fragile flowers like these guys?)

Re: getting harassed: Yeah; press X to doubt. Everyone will just assume (on the off-chance they even give a shit) that "he" is buying it for "his" girlfriend/wife/daughter as probably happens A MILLION TIMES A DAY WITHOUT INCIDENT. Cuz guess what? Ya don't hafta announce to the entire store "I'M BUYING THIS TO PLUG UP MY DUDE-VAG!!!"

Real men don’t have periods. Then again, trans men are not real men.

A box of 36 tampons, which could easily be used within one menstruation period, could cost as much as $12 — that’s significantly more than the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour. Additionally, menstrual hygiene products sold in the U.S. are still subject to sales tax in 32 states.

Miraculously, no one gave a shit about this when it applied to normal WOMEN. Now that mentally ill woMEN are crying, suddenly it's an issue. Meanwhile, are WOMEN in American prisons getting access to free pads and tampons now, or are they still having to stuff their underpants with toilet paper and cloth and bleed through their uniforms? The media does not care about WOMEN.

And by the way, I just did the math and the pack of 36 Kotex brand maxi pads I bought today cost me $2.50 USD. These products DO NOT have to be so expensive for Americans, these companies sell the exact same shit in countries like mine for waaaay cheaper. The same goes for clothing, shoes, furniture, cell phone service, internet, EVERYTHING. Americans/Westerners are paying SO FUCKING MUCH for basic items, and most you guys don't even know you're doing it.

Okay, listen closely Pinnochio:

YOU. WILL. NEVER. BECOME. A. REAL. BOY.

Stop trying to confuse people into thinking boys and men are having periods, when it's mentally ill, delusional female cult members having the periods. Fuck the media for enabling this lunacy.

As a very gnc woman, this shit pisses me off. "Gender nonconforming people who menstruate..." the word for those people is women. Being gnc doesnt make us any less a woman.

This shit enrages me so much!

You don't stop to be human, for example, just because you wish very very very much not to be one. Reality is still there even after you close your eyes.

You like to cosplay h24 as a man? THAT'S OKAY. But you're still a woman. Can't change thay. Sorry not sorry. Stop believing you're actually your cosplay.

In their eyes, it does. That's why those of us in liberal areas get "theyed" without our consent.

We're not automatically valid women to them. It's fucking depressing because my masculinity is what made me question whether I was a woman in the first place.

Edited for clarity.

This hasn't happened to me yet but the first time it does I'm finally going to have my "ITS MAAM" moment. I get called sir pretty frequently (especially with the masks) and that never bothers me, but for some reason the thought of me being a "they" because I'm not frilly enough to be considered a woman is enraging.

Edit: not in a liberal area, we will see what happens next time I visit one

[–]worried19 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I'm lucky, too. I live in a very un-woke area. I get "sir" from people who think I'm biologically male because they apologize when they realize I'm not.

But I've had women in liberal areas tell me they get called "they" all the time. I had a teacher on Reddit tell me she pulled aside a GNC 14-year-old girl to ask her her pronouns. She could not understand how anyone would find an authority figure suggesting to a child that she might not be a girl upsetting or unethical.

Why is this news.. Will you "crumble into dust" if you grab some pads off the shelf and someone sees you? Oh God, what if the cashier needs to perform a.. price check... OVER THE LOUD SPEAKER?? No0o0o! These are the people pushing the "menstruator" bull. There are people who get nervous ALL the time buying sanitary products, I know a lot of women who get embarassed. This isnt some existential crisis that should make you go into a deep depression for a month and if it does, you need to seek therapy. They're pads. NBC is trash for amplifying this non sense. No one cares about how buying pads affects your fragile sense of self.

Why do these BIOLOGICAL women insist that they're gay men? These grown-ass women act like a bunch of immature fujoshi teenage girls with a nasty fetish for gay men.

Leave these men alone. Gay men won't AND don't like you nor your "man-gina".

Ugh, I remember I had former friends who were OBSESSED with Yaoi and would "ship" people in real life. They also made me the "boy" of the group and tried to but me in a box that I'm "gender fluid" because I was the most tomboyish one. No, no no. I am not boy, i am not gender fluid. I am born female, so I am woman.

[–]zerosis 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I was sexually assaulted multiple times by girls like that, because I was the only gay man in my friend group. It is absolutely a fetish, and it's disgusting when they try to use us for it. One of them actually became a trans man, and detransitioned a few years later. In my purely anecdotal experience, Yaoi fans are a fucking mess.

[–]PeakingPeachEaterfemale♀ | detrans🦎 | eater of peaches 🍑 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

What those girls did were vile and disgusting acts, it makes angry that they would violate you in such a way! I'm really sorry that you had to go through that. I hope you had support during that time. I heard it is rather difficult for men to receive support on sexual assault and people try to dismiss it---it make me livid and disheartened that people brush it off.

One on my bisexual guy friends back in college was sexually assaulted by his female babysitter while he was maybe 8y.o. He told his mother, but she didn't do anything about it and got mad at HIM.

My current partner was a MINOR (12y.o) too when he said he had "sex" with older women (20s-30s). That's not sex, that's abuse.

Yep, all the (female) yaoi fans I've met so far are messed up in the head. They try to take things to the next level.

[–]zerosis 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That's awful what happened to your friend and partner, ugh! One of the girls tracked me down years later to apologize, but I haven't heard from the others. It just sends up an immediate red flag for me now if a girl seems a little too into gay men, or if a trans man tries to force themselves into a social group for gay men. For a long time, I tried to be super 'validating' and accepting, but it just psychologically became too much for me after a while. Trans girls don't bother me and I can be around them just fine, because they've never done anything to me (I know it's a serious issue in lesbian spaces though), but trans men in gay male spaces just gives me a visceral reaction. Those 'fetish' alarm bells go off in my head and I just can't be around that after what I went through before. I feel like if they did try to do something, there's no reasonable way I could defend myself without them bringing down the hammer of the woke cosmos on my ass for being 'transphobic.' Even just running away would get me put on blast in some way. Idek.

What do you mean by 'ship' people? What is fujoshi? Is,it related to hentai or the Bible black anime where a character that has a vagina and penis has sex with a woman?

[–]PeakingPeachEaterfemale♀ | detrans🦎 | eater of peaches 🍑 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Fujoshi literal meaning is "rotten girl"(it's used pejoratively but some fools wear the title proudly). It's used to describe women who read Yaoi(gay male porn manga) and are OBSESSED with gay men.

Shipping is a term they use when they want to "pair up" people as a couple. Like say Bob and George are friends. These Fujoshis would go crazy and see them as a couple and claim they're a couple(when Bob & George are not, regardless of their sexual orientation). Usually, they do that for just entertainment/media, but some crazy fujoshis stalk people in real life. It's gross.

Fudanshi is a male version of female Fujoshi.

“I didn’t believe that having periods would be a part of my lived experience,” Jones told NBC News. “I felt isolated; everything about periods was tailored to girls, yet me, a boy, was experiencing this and nothing in the world documented that.”

Who the FUCK was educating this child and told them they were a boy and not that they would have female biological functions??? This is such an egregious gap in education/parenting

"Having a period already causes me a lot of [gender] dysphoria, but this dysphoria becomes heightened when I have to shop for a product that is labeled as ‘women’s health’ and in most cases, is pretty and pink,” Jones explained.

Oh god forbid there be the color pink. As we all know, no man has ever worn pink.

not quite related to the article, but something i've noticed among trans people is kind of odd to me. how come trans "men" are typically more convincing gender cosplayers than trans "women"? i could be fully convinced by some of these women and it surprises me, but it's almost always so easy to tell when it's a dude trying to come off as a female.

Freaking out about something neither you nor anyone else is going to see when it is in use except for when you are in the bathroom, when only you will see it unless you are bathroom-ing totally incorrectly, is a pretty great illustration of how self-inflicted so much of this silliness is.

As a gay man, this is the kind of shit that makes me want to run off into the woods and live in a cabin eating berries and shit for the rest of my life. I feel like I'm living in some kind of parody dimension and I'm getting so damn tired of it. People tell me 'Oh, this is just a small loud minority online, just don't pay attention to it! People in the real world are all normal and reasonable and roll their eyes when they see shit like this.' What these people don't fucking realize is that it's not the general population that I'm concerned with. It's the gay community. And this shit has absolutely TAKEN THE FUCK OVER the gay community. My community. I can't involve myself in any gay social events or arenas, on or offline, without running into this gender cult bullshit at every turn. It's. So. Exhausting.
