When comedy of the past is the reality of the current.

I think Simpsons had few episodes about that too, about transwomen fully filling women clubs, and presenting themselves as lesbians.

And South Park had episode about transwomen (who was not even trying to look like woman) was laughing on easy wins against women in sports.

That South Park episode was a masterpiece.

It was also more poignant just because of the inherently more political nature of South Park versus other examples.

The simpsons episode where patty is going to marry a woman then marge finds out its a man pretending to be a woman to compeat in women's golf games. The episode ends with the man saying "patty do you still love me" and patty says "no! I like girls! ' If that was made now she would probs marry him

Futurama's a great show and they certainly did hit the nail on the head with this one

I remember watching that episode when it aired and thought what a funny premise that was. Oh, how wrong and naive I was...

There's also an episode where an alien accidentally changes the sex of the whole crew. The LGBT center actually played this with a promotion of the concept of gender identity. I went and watched the episode and was super surprised that the episode itself actually had nothing to do with the way the center promoted it. They had a discussion after the fact and I pointed out that none of the characters displays a gender identity. When the men and women get swapped none of them freak out about being in the wrong body.

They all basically go "oh well that's my body now." And they start dramatically trying to act out their new gender roles. They find it fun and funny at first then realize that being the opposite sex isn't as easy as they all expected.

Somehow none of the staff realized that this episode was really about accepting your body and respecting the opposite sex while making it appear that gender identity did not exist. Somehow they took it as proving gender identity was real. When I pointed it out I think it became glaringly obvious and the discussion fizzled out. It's not like I made a smart point but that they were looking for a preconceived point.

I wonder how long until that episode is banned for being transphobic...
