I know I'm over-analyzing it, but that post is the opposite of love. Imagine a mother has ten children, and the oldest worked hard, saved up, and bought herself a bag of candy. The mother rips the bag of candy away from her hands, give one candy each to all the brothers and sisters, and then tells the oldest child to basically go fuck herself. That's the feeling this posts gives me. I deleted my Twitter account around 30 minutes ago, but I saw a TRA called 'Critfacts' (probably the most insufferable person I've ever had the displeasure of talking to) commenting under someone who QRT'd this who had justified distaste with the message by simply saying: "wHy Do YoU hAvE a PrObLeM wItH pEoPlE wHo IdEnTiFy DiFfErEnTlY tO yOu?" Because it is progressively tearing away all of the meaning from the word lesbian, dipshit.

I hope one day these people can step into the realm of normality and notice that they're fucking stupid. I'm just so sick of being painted out as a joke just because of these fucking idiots who I will forever be associated with against my will as a result of that fucking alphabet club.

Even though that’s happening, people take gay men a lot more seriously than lesbians in general. So even though “gay” is used as whatever in the community, people still generally respect and believe men who say they’re gay. Lesbians were already not taken seriously so we tend to suffer more from this specific problem.
