I never, unfortunately, got the chance to participate in the old subreddit before it was axed by Reddit. Out of curiosity, how much traction did that subreddit get and what was the general vibe? Did people seem relieved for the creation of that subreddit?

It was much more active. I had several posts on there that received a few thousand upvotes. 24K subscribers at the time it was banned, I believe. Had around 2,000 users there at once at it's peak from what I remember.

Suppose not everyone wanted to make the jump to Saidit. Which is understandable, making an account is easy, but getting adjusted to an entirely new platform and the preemptive knowledge that less people are going to be there may turn some people away.

Met a lotta' friends over at the old sub. Wish it was still around. It was so nice to meet other gay, lesbian and bisexual folk who hadn't been brainwashed by the trans bullshit. As much as I hate Reddit these days for what it has became, I kinda wish the old sub was still around. Free speech on Reddit died a long time ago.

Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual people can't have their own spaces but trans people can? Yeah, fuck off.

Same with trans people getting to have their own spaces but not biological females.

Tbh, if I had to give you an answer (just for clarification), these are the subs I miss the most:

  • r/GenderCynicalCritical (a sub for criticising the views of r/GenderCynical).

  • r/TrollGC.

  • r/GCDebatesQT.

  • r/LGBDropTheT.

Seriously, I miss these subs so much. The communities were so inviting.

r/GenderCynicalCritical? That sounds pretty great, actually. Was that just about discussion of the stuff on r/GenderCynical? If anyone wanted to start one over here, I'd be down..

Yeah. It was basically just a sub that took the piss out of r/GenderCynical's views. The two would get into constant debacles.

I'd also like for that particular sub to be recreated, the guys over at r/gendercynical are just narcissistic fuckwads. I dunno if it would gain any traction unless r/gendercritical or other subs on here would be willing to promote it, tho.

Most of them have Discord servers apart from r/TrollGC, I think.

There is one called r/BiologicalLesbians that was recently created, but the comments are empty because everyone is afraid to say anything that will get the sub banned. I've seen a few transbians going on there and policing language and bullying the mods, who have to parrot transwomen are women at them placatingly.

It was great. My favourite part was that it wasn't some right or left wing circlejerk, it had one of the most varied and balanced array of political beliefs I've ever seen in a gay sub (or any sub tbh). There were even some trans people there lol.

It's such a shame it's gone because as fun as this group can be, it'll never come close to the original sub. Nobody wants to use a whole different website just for one sub (if they aren't interested in other saidit stuff that is).

Mildly disagree about people not wanting to join a completely different website because that's what I did. Actually didn't even have a Reddit at the time the OG sub got deleted because I hated Reddit's rules and other subs.

I know a lot did but I think a huge number of subscribers on the old sub were just reddit users who decided to check in casually, but don't care enough to follow us to SaidIt. We'll never get back that audience. I can't see this sub ever having more than a few thousand subs. Nowhere near 24k on the old one.

that sounds actually really great. it's nice to have your own spaces when it comes to political views but not at all representative of the world. to have a space where all people on the political spectrum agreed this gender shit is a fucking farce...that's some unifying shit right there lmfao

I missed that subreddit. It became one of my favourite subs. And it was a very active sub. Over 20,000 subscribers and a lot of common sense. It was also one of the only LGB subreddits I liked - there was rightwinglgbt, which I was also very active on until it was banned. LGBDropTheT was calling out the insanity of woke culture, without moving to the right - I’m a right wing person myself, but just because you’re left wing doesn’t mean you have to be woke, so I was happy that there were left wing people who agreed with me on the TQ and woke insanity. The week both subreddits were banned, I deleted my Reddit account.

Why was rightwinglgbt even banned? I was a participant there... and it was literally just a subreddit for conservative gay, bisexual, lesbian and trans people.

We’re not allowed to be conservative. They want all of us to vote for left wing political parties. Plus, they’re so used to people disagreeing with them being straight white men that the idea of a same sex attracted person, a woman or a non-white person disagreeing with them to be absurd and infuriating. We’re supposed to be the good guys, but these people see everything in black and white on account of the fact that they are perpetual children. It melts their brain when someone who’s not an evil straight white male tells them that they’re wrong - that forces them to admit they are wrong or grow up. That’s also why TRAs hate women and homosexuals who oppose them. We’re traitors to them.

That sub was sexist as fuck. I remember them having a post that literally said, "women are the reason the Florida bridge fell apart". When women called it out in the comments, they were banned. Nah, fuck that pos sub reddit.

Let me tell ya, Smoldes, I was extremely traumatized by the whole ordeal. So traumatized, I went to the factory cheesecake and cried myself to farts.

Remember when a trans looney requested ownership of the original r/dropthet and nuked it because it was "full of hate"?

The funny thing is that now it's still up on reddit, and it's an epitaph to how only trans are allowed to have opinions on the site when it comes to sexuality. The moron didn't clean house properly, so there are still receipts that look very bad to the trans agenda when they get brought up by google, who doesn't realize that there's still dirty wrongthink on reddit that must be omitted from search results.

The sub wasn't being moderated anymore, and several different active members requested it through RedditRequest. All of those requests were ignored, and the trans squatter got it instead. Once that happened, IPD made r/LGBDropTheT.
