It's sad that they've been sold a lie. A neopenis or vagina can never resemble the real thing. They will never look, taste, feel, smell, react, or function the same as an actual penis or vagina. And no, a prosthetic (dildo) doesn't cut it.

And they don't just lie about it, they hide/cover up frank discussion of the real results of GRS surgery. To the detriment of actual trans people!

"there are a hell of a lot of trans men who are physically indistinguishable from cis men, even during sex"

This is just not true and it doesn't matter how many times they say it, it'll always be untrue. 😂

As for neopenises, they really aren't indistinguishable from an actual penis. I think anyone who has never even seen a penis IRL or up close will still think there's something ''off'' or not quite right about a neopenis. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I see this or very similar to this post here or in GC for the 5th time in last month or two. And each new post gets less and less answers, as repeating the same every time can be tiresome. I suppose after few more copies of this post and no one will even bother to answer in them at all.

And no, neo-penis is not even remotely close to real one.

Let's remember that neopenises, unlike real ones, carry a very real risk of necrosis and complications related to urinal infections.

Yes, you heard that right: a neopenis can just fall off because of improper blood flow and they have to be squished in order for the piss to fully get out of the urethra, you now, exactly like an actual penis! /s

Also, it can't get naturally hard, so it must be pumped before or during sex.

And let's not forget the revision surgeries! It's very important!

People who claim that the results of phalloplasty are even remotely comparable to a penis are a) deluding themselves, b) arguing in bad faith and/or c) have never seen and touched an actual penis in their life. And no, I am not talking about some first-stage phalloplasty photos on the internet, I am talking about 'best results'. It's glaringly obvious they are not the real thing. The skin's different, the texture is different, the structure is different. There's veins on a real one, there's a clear separation between glans and shaft. The real one is nothing like the prosthetic a surgeon produces. That's also why the distinction between pre- and post-op trans people is irrelevant.

Anyone who believes a man-made penis has anything in common with a real one has never had or handled a penis. I mean, if I ran the tip of my tongue along the length of your am, how do you think it would react?

Great! Now I'm thinking neo-penises with goosepimples and armhair growing from them :/

In that case I suggest you don't search for images because your worst fears will be realised.

Also, even if we had Star Trek level nano-bio reconstruction and could give any woman the perfect penis, I'd still not sleep with them, because they're women and we're not genital fetishists. Homosexual men are attracted to human males. There are many physical and psychological factors that make men men - and I don't mean stupid stereotypes; gender-nonconforming men and gender-nonconforming women are still different, they don't suddenly make up some genderless sexless human soup.

Homosexuality, despite the memes, is not just dickdickdickdickdickdickdickdickdickdickballs. It's about men and men, and women and women. Don't let them make it about only genitals - that's the world they live in, not us.

When TRAs are talking to people outside of their subculture it's genitals this genitals that fuck your expectations and touch mine, but then they slink back to their trans discords and obsessively worry about having the same "passing" mannerisms and secondary sexual characteristics that we're supposed to just suck up and ignore. Don't let them play dumb.

Think of it like any other kind of prosthesis. It's a simulacrum of a real body part.

oh but what makes it real what is reality

Philosophers have struggled with that question for millennia.

I've met several people in my life who appear perfectly able-bodied at first glance and even at very close quarters, only to then discover, 'Gosh, Sally has two prosthetic legs, you'd never know from looking at her' or 'I never knew Gordon had a glass eye, it's very realistic.'

Sally's prosthetic legs look near enough like real legs if she's got some trousers on, and they function just the same as the real thing because she can move around climb stairs and run a marathon. But they're not 'real' legs. Sally does not have two legs, she has prosthetic legs. If I'm consumed by a fit of pique and kick sally in the shins, she's not going to feel that. If someone runs over her foot in their car, Sally will be none the wiser (though probably not since she'll likely be aware of a car being that close to her).

Similarly, Gordon cannot see out of his glass eye. It looks the same as the real thing, sure, but it isn't. The pupil will not dilate, there is no blood flow, no lens, no other part of the staggeringly complex anatomy of the eye.

Legs and eyes are one thing, but genitalia are quite a different matter. They have a specific sexual function that cannot be simulated. And as many people in the comments have attested, anyone who claims a neopenis is in any way indistinguishable from a real penis is fooling nobody but themselves.

And similar to how Sally can't feel when someone kicks her legs, she can't derive pleasure from feeling someone stroke her legs affectionately. Can transmen feel anything that happens to their neopenis? Are there any nerves that have been connected? Or are they entirely unable to derive pleasure from it, rendering sex with it pointless except as an idea?

[–]fuck_reddit 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I guess they are capable of deriving pleasure from it, but no more pleasure than you get when someone tenderly strokes your forearm. The thing that makes sex so pleasurable is the density of nerves in specific areas. This density is not present in arm tissue, so they just aren't capable of getting anywhere near the level of pleasure from a prosthetic...

So, just like their problems, it's all in their heads

That's what baffles me the most about these voluntary surgeries to remove a person's vagina or penis. Like, they are permanently destroying their ability to experience sexual pleasure. Once those organs are gone, there's no going back. I don't think most trans people that go through "bottom surgery" know what they're getting into in ANY way...

I can't even explain the fascination provoked in me by the view of a penis ejaculating, especially when it's attached to a good looking gent.

Seriously, a tube of skin with a pump is nothing like a real penis.

[–]fuck_reddit 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Have they ever seen a real penis? Cause I could tell a neo-penis in a heartbeat...

I am a lesbian but I find this so funny: (from wikipedia)

Phalloplasty requires an implanted penile prosthesis to achieve an erection. Penile prostheses are implanted devices intended to restore the erectile rigidity in biological men and to build a neophallus (new penis) in trans men. Penile implants were used in phalloplasty surgeries both in cis and trans men since 1970s. There are two main types of penile implants – malleable and inflatable implants. Both types have a pair of cylinders implanted into the penis and replace the non-erectile tissue in biological men and serve as the core for the neophallus in trans men. The cylinder of the inflatable implant is filled with sterile saline solution. Pumping saline into the chambers of this cylinder produces an erection. The glans of the penis, however, remains unaffected. In sex-reassignment surgeries, a new penis is formed with the use of penile implant surrounded with a tissue flap. The pump unit of inflatable penile implants resembles a human testicle and can serve as an artificial testicle for concomitant scrotoplasty. Initially, standard penile implants were used in phalloplasty procedures. However, since there is no corpus cavernosum in the penis undergoing phalloplasty, and the fact that standard penile implants were designed to be implanted in corpus cavernosum, there were many adverse outcomes. Since 2015, Zephyr Surgical Implants proposes malleable and inflatable penile implants particularly designed for phalloplasty surgeries. Implantation procedures are usually done in a separate surgery to allow time for proper healing.

I imagine an obvious distinguishing feature between transmen and men during sex would have be "oh sorry, just need a minute to pump up my dick. I'll be back in a sec". As far as I can tell it functions similarly to an inflatable strap-on. https://www.gurecon.com/implant-photos It's kind of funny, they squeeze the balls and it pops up.
