Yep! I would love a free speech platform where I could speak my mind freely about what is going on with this mess that is LGBTQIA2S+++ community and my opinions about issues related to it without fear. Maybe your own site? Like radfems did with Ovarit.

A forum would be relatively easy to set up and host or find a host for, especially for a smaller group. As a bonus it would be more accessible to older people.

I agree that a forum would more likely appeal to people over the age of 30.

I would certainly be turned off joining a discord due to me associating the software with gaming and obnoxious children (yes I realise that it is not just used for gaming clans these days, but it's hard to shake that perception).

I think a website a LGB news front page and a community forum would be a good mix.

Well, while certainly not opposed to a forum setup... I'm decidedly over 30, super-tech-impaired, AND comfortable with chat. Even though I only began using it earlier this year. Okay, might be an outlier there, but keep in mind that us older people often have experience with chat through customer service (as was the case for me), even if we're strangers to it on social media.

Also? Am far from a gamer (have never played one to date actually!), yet very active on Discord. (Which I had never even heard of till a few months ago.) So it can be done! At least by a weirdo like me. :)

Count me in!

I'd also note, though, that while your Discord admittedly isn't like this-- it's turned out to be more of a place for casual, agenda-free socializing-- as more people join, the server's character may change. Possibly into what you're proposing with this post. Really depends on who shows up.

But either way, I'd still be interested in the kind of group that you've outlined here. Particularly if it has a well-developed chat component, so that we can communicate directly in real time, rather than just through posts/comments. And is publicized/presented in a manner that makes its intent clear, to keep the light-n-fluffy hugboxers away.

Much as I value a refuge like this, to commiserate and get my snark on, I increasingly feel the need to, yanno, actually do something. Especially with a new and (one hopes!) dramatically-different presidential administration about to take power here in the U.S. We need to get in on the ground floor with them, as far as trans/genderist/LGB-related policy goes. Can't let the T set the agenda.
