I wanted to share this post because it is a good example of teens learning the message, directly from peers and adults, that if you try to ask out another teen on a date and find out your crush likes a gender that you aren't, that you should then identify as trans and you'll be able to date them.

Multiple problems with this:

  • child transing, in some cases pushing children down a lifetime lane of medical procedures and drugs

  • refusal to respect boundaries-- instead of accepting that "no means no," teens learn that if you just change your gender then your crush can't say no

  • homophobia-- individuals attracted to one sex and not another end up pressured to date someone who identified as trans in an attempt to date them; and impressionable, marginalized teenagers are likely afraid of being called "transphobic"

These types of posts maintain the current pattern of pressure for children to identify as transgender. If you were a kid and you received these messages from your peers, wouldn't you be influenced, too?

It is so wrong.

"If you like a girl, but she is lesbian, just say that you are girl yourself!".

It teaches kids to act very rapey, and puts kids on medication path.

The girl is MTF trans, and ceterosexual. The star in the middle means she's only attracted to xenogender people. The other one is a closeted animecoric person, pretending to be a cis man because AMAB. They think pretending to be cishet will score them this girl, but they were wrong.

Jesus wept, that these people actually believe in this stuff unironically kills me. Some of the other threads are great: "I don't really understand xenogenders, but you're still valid!", and one person who actually claims to use "it/its" pronouns but complains about being "objectified".

How will any of these people function as adults?

No joke, I actually met a MtF one time who had that as one of his preferred pronouns. I never called him that, I would never call another human something so degrading.

He was a young adult, and I'm not sure he had a job.

Sure!

  • There are two MtF people in the comic.

  • The MtF person on the left says that he is only attracted to people who have "xenogenders" (extra made-up genders, if you don't know what this is or have never heard of MOGAI I can explain).

  • The MtF person on the right starts out being a "xenogender" but wearing a mask which is black-and-white and is supposed to meant "straight" i.e. "cis". According to the comic, deep down he is really a xenogender but he is choosing to pretend to be straight because he thinks this will get the other MtF to date him. (This alone seems creepy, even if you believed in "xenogenders".)

  • The MtF on the right then says, "Aha! I am actually a xenogender!" He removes his "straight and cis" mask to reveal that he has a "xenogender".

  • The two then date. I guess it is just assumed that the one on the left automatically wants to date anyone with a "xenogender".

Messages:

  • just identify as the "gender" the person you want to date, is looking for, and you will automatically get a date with them.

  • "xenogenders" are real

  • It is possible to be "only attracted to xenogenders" like the MtF on the left-- whatever that means (edited to add)

  • god is dead, lol

I wouldn't be so bothered by a bunch of kids playing pretend on the internet if their actions were not responsible for encouraging other kids to start down harmful transgender medicalization path.

Some woman-identifying males are hypocrites, calling lesbians transphobes if lesbians don’t consider males like themselves potential sexual partners while giving themselves a pass from considering woman-identifying males viable sexual partners due to dysphoria.

Other women-identifying males are not hypocrites that way, they identify as lesbians and fail to recognize they are pansexual with a type. Maybe they pretransition were into "shemale" porn, felt bad about by their own attraction to that due to "no homo" and then in their words "overcame their transphobia". Then they think lesbians are just like them, also attracted to males but don’t want to admit it due to "transphobia".

I’ve seen some "transbians" describe scenarios were they were attracted to man because they thought the man was an "egg". So it seems some trans people who say they are monosexual are actually attracted to identities/desire to be a sex, then they generalize from themselves and think sexuality works that way for monosexual people.
