"Are you a rape-enabler if you pressure unwilling people into dating trans?"

I really hope the teacher just created this question to generate a debate and maybe be able to teach about consent. Not in a loaded "you're wrong if you answer no" way.

During high school I wasn't dating anyone at all. It'd be bizarre to answer this question.

I went to a school with a ton of immigrant kids. Not only were we not dating, we were literally not even allowed to date by our parents. Our "dating" consisted of holding hands under the desk or kissing in the empty hallway before class, those of us who dared to date at all. I would have gotten in exactly the same amount of trouble for dating a boy as for dating a girl, if not more, that's how strict our parents were. I love how these people bleat about "intersectionality" but this question just assumes that we all have teenage dating as normal in our cultures.

It would be great if there was more context to this question. In that, they showed the text printed below it. That would give a better idea of whether this was woke trash or not.

Knowing that teachers are some of the wokest people in Canada and BC is the wokest of provinces I doubt the question was meant for debate.

If we do not stop this anti-science,anti-meritocratic,anti-democratic madness, the West is fucked.

It's already in the schools in many parts of the world - the gender lobby learned their history well - capture young minds.

In order to stop it we have to fight it in the schools. Each school, one by one if necessary. Contact your local school (and your alma mater) and see what they're teaching. Push back. Now.

Do you have any idea how to do that in a tasteful and effective manner? I've been meaning to check up on my high school alma mater for a while now, but every way that my plan to do so plays out in my head results in the grumpy secretary saying that she can't help at the moment, claiming that she'll get back to me, and then forgetting/ignoring my request.

For Americans, here's a parents' guide on how to fight gender ideology in schools. It is endorsed by the Women's Liberation Front (WoLF) a feminist group that's been at the forefront of fighting gender ideology:

Here's a non-partisan group of US parents who have organized to fight schools that encourage the transitioning of children:

Thanks. Regarding the first link: it's encouraging to see that it was both signed by WoLF, The Heritage Foundation, and plenty of organizations in the middle.

From my past experience, both conservative groups and progressive groups who oppose TRAs tend to unnecessarily slather their objections with their group's ideological talking points--evangelical Christian subculture or second-wave feminism, respectively. Neither of those perspectives are necessary for understanding why TQ+ ideology is nonsense. By working together, they iron out each-others' quirks and biases in presentation so that the resulting message is acceptable to as broad of an audience as possible.

Canada is a joke.

Is there any proof that this is true? My bullshit spidey sense is tingling.

The woman whose Twitter I got this tweet off of is a noted Canadian GC feminist who I've been following for a few years. From what I've seen, she doesn't misrepresent what she posts, so I trust that she's not making this up.

Canada was one of the labs for gender ideology. If you want to see the future of Gender Uber Alles, look to what's happened in Canada.

Americans, we are next. If you care about yourself. If you care about gay kids. Get on the phone with your elected representatives and say NO to the Equality Act and any legislation that changes the legal definition of "sex" to include "gender identity, and/or that allows sex-based rights and protections to include "gender identity."

Call US Rep. Ted Lieu's office (D-CA) and your own US Rep's office and say NO to Lieu's gender identity conversion ban (allowing the transitioning of children).

Lieu's bill was called the Therapeutic Fraud Prevention Act of 2019, but I'm not sure what's happening now. However, if you refer to the bill using the same title you will probably get your opposition to the bill across.

Make sure to tell Congress that you're LGB, and if you are NOT a conservative, make sure to tell them that too.

I believe you, but is there any way for you to verify this? Are you able to contact her and get proof? I am asking not for my sake, but so that it's clear, beyond a shadow of a doubt, so that it cannot be dismissed by TRAs and people who would rather look the other way. We could use the proof when we contact our representatives.

The woman whose Twitter this came from is a leader in Canadian gender critical groups and has been for along time. She was involved in the JK Rowling billboard, fighting for Vancouver Rape Relief when the gender activists attacked it, etc.

There is a chance she was fooled, but if you look at the rest of the thread she says something about how she can't reveal the rest.

But I can't verify anything myself.

However, if you have even a shadow of a doubt, I would not use this as an example to prove the craziness of Canada's SOGI (Sex Education & Gender Identity) education, which is being pushed on kids in Canadian schools. Especially since you can find verified Canadian SOGI material that's equally nutty.

Thanks for the additional info about the woman who posted this. I haven't seen any other Canadian SOGI education, but I will look for it. It's very disturbing to read that this stuff has seeped from the fringe into mainstream education.

[–]BEB[S] 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

If you're in Canada, I believe that there are a few groups pushing back on SOGI education. This same woman's Twitter might be able to connect you to some organizations.

This guy (below) worked with the original Tweeter on the Vancouver I LOVE JK Rowling billboard. He's done other I LOVE JK Rowling billboards and also other activist work against gender ideology, but has apparently fallen out with a lot of people, so who knows what he's really about.

However, his Twitter has a lot of information on the pushback against SOGI, gender ideology, transitioning children, etc., especially in Canada, so you might want to check his Twitter out occasionally because he does often link to credible people:

https://twitter.com/christophelston

I am not endorsing him at all, I just find his Twitter interesting and sometimes informative.

Not in Canada unfortunately, but I am going to see if there is a way I can push back on this from the US. I heard about the I LOVE JK Rowling billboard and thought it was really fucking awesome. Thank you for the information and the link, I am going to check it out!
