In many countries where pre-marital sex is rare, men who want to have sex either need to chase foreign women, or go to prostitutes, and some of them opt to go to trans prostitutes for whatever reason. It's considered 'not gay' especially if the trans prostitute keeps the penis hidden and only uses his mouth, his hands, or his behind during the sexual activities.

However, the trans prostitutes always tell tales of the "Straight men" who are more interested in the penis than anything else. They want to touch it, they want to give the blowjob, (I haven't really heard of them wanting to bottom.) And it's an uncomfortable situation because many of these trans prostitutes are suffering from intense dysphoria and they hate their penises. They live in countries where there is no such thing as "gender confirmation surgery" or it's way too expensive and difficult to get, so they are stuck with these bodyparts that their mental illness makes them hate, and yet they have to allow these bodyparts to be used if they want to make money and buy food and pay rent. It's not the typical American 'suck my girl dick' situation.

Of course those of us who use basic logic can see that a man wanting sexual activity with another man = either gay or bi, but in many of these cultures it's like............. Just don't talk about it. Let's just not acknowledge it. The person looked somewhat female in the dark and there was a useable hole, and it's not like there was love involved...so...

It's interesting to see that even in the western countries, the same exact thing is happening with the same thought process. "It's not really gay because...." (because I don't want it to be gay.)

I really don't know what my point is. maybe that being a delusional ass-clown is part of the basic human experience.

this is a looooong 140 page PDF but has tons of info. It downloads onto your computer but it appears to be safe. I've been searching through it with keyword "Transgender" and I'm not all the way through it yet. I'm trying to find an article or something that explains the psychology of why "straight" men go to trans prostitutes and still think they're straight but... I'll have to keep digging.

While a great deal of the terminology used in this article (that, on reflection, might just be a blog post?) is misguided ('straight' men don't bottom for 'women' in this context), I agree with the general sentiment.

The number of Grindr profiles I encounter that specifically say variations on 'I'm straight, no guys' is astounding. My most recent profile was banned for saying

Fucking a [slur] in a dress doesn't make you straight.
