Sounds like pathological lying to me.

From your link, yes! This fits them to a T, pun intended:

They usually portray themselves as the hero or victim Along with being made the hero or victim in their stories, pathological liars tend to tell lies that seem to be geared at gaining admiration, sympathy, or acceptance by others.

They sometimes seem to believe the lies they tell A pathological liar tells lies and stories that fall somewhere between conscious lying and delusion. They sometimes believe their own lies.

I've noticed that as well. Many TRAs are literally children, so it makes sense they think like children. When /r/superstraight was still up, there were self confessed teenage virgins lecturing adults about how Frankenstein dicks and vaginas are "exactly the same as natal genitals" and how they don't understand why people still wouldn't date trans people if trans people had genitals that match their "genital preferences". It's absolutely hilarious how these 14 year old virgins think they have the right to dictate other people's dating choices.

Trans people also extremely high rates of mental illness. Of course none of this is PC to point out.

Results: The frequency of personality disorders was 81.4%. The most frequent personality disorder was narcissistic personality disorder (57.1%) and the least was borderline personality disorder. The average number of diagnoses was 3.00 per patient.

We identified 53,449,400 patients, of which 10,270 (0.0192%) had gender minority-related codes. The median age was 35–39 years old for both groups (p=0.99). Table 1 lists the prevalence of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) diagnoses for each population. Approximately 58% of transgender patients had at least one DSM-5 diagnosis compared with 13.6% of cisgender patients (p<0.0005). Transgender patients had increased prevalence for all psychiatric diagnoses queried (Table 1), with major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder being the most common diagnoses (31% and 12%, respectively). There was also an increased lifetime prevalence of bipolar disorder (11%) and psychotic disorders (4.7% overall, 2.5% for schizophrenia and 2.2% for schizoaffective disorder) in transgender adults.

It is common to people with one paraphilia to have other paraphilias or mental illnesses, and for people with one mental illness to develop few more if they are not given care or treatment.

This part could easily be about TRA:

When my 4-year-old told me that he was dressed, he realized that I couldn't see him. [read: When the TRA told us he "felt like a woman," he realized we had no way to measure a person's feelings.] He reasoned that I would form a belief based on what he told me, not on reality. He capitalized on this situation to try to instill in my mind a false belief (that he was ready to go) [read: that men could be women just by "feeling" female] that served his goal (having time to play). [his goal: having license to play in the opposite sex's private spaces to indulge his fetish].
