On my uni's LGBT society page it says #BeautifullyQueer I'll just let you all imagine what it's like.

They do have gay, lesbian and bisexual reps though. But they also have an asexual rep. And of course, gender identity rep. Looks like they also did a fundraiser for Mermaids last month so....yeah. 😬

i guess the asexual rep volunteered because they have so much free time.

They gotta get a demisexual, but they might be busy building relationships and waiting to see if love blossoms before they bang.

I really see no point in actual asexual rep but demisexual one is just laughable. If they're straight there is nothing different from them and the general population - they just don't like one night stands.

Like what, you need a representation of a loner for the rest of their lives? That's opression of the same calibel as being assaulted and beaten for holding hands with your partner?

Here's what UCLA has to say. Maybe you see the connection to LGB support?

We must unapologetically act in solidarity with the Movement for Black Lives.

We must hold steadfast in our support of undocumented and international students and scholars. We must amplify and center the experiences of Black, Indigenous, Queer and Trans People of Color (QTBIPOC) in our work towards greater social and racial justice.

We must ensure accessibility is uplifted in our pursuit of a community which honors all members, including those of us who are disabled and/or neurodivergent.

We must work towards greater equity and access for nonbinary, agender, and transgender community members.

They didn't even mention gays and lesbians once... 🤦🏾‍♀️ I'm Black but dang don't they have a Black Student Union to talk about the Movement for Black Lives and even in the immigration part, no mention of homosexual refugees and how the center supports them... Gahh it all just feels so fake

I know a bit about UCLA, and it's long been an epicenter for everything you quote here.

I'm probably showing my ignorance here, but how can undocumented immigrants sign up at a major university? Aren't universities obliged to ensure that all their students have a legal right to be in the country?

I'm pretty sure over here that failure to do so counts as a crime. Something like harbouring illegal immigrants or something.

I'm not really sure, but it's absolutely a thing. I used to get spammed with emails saying "support undocumented students!!" and stuff. (I'm in the US)

My WOKE US uni routinely solicits alumni contributions specifically for students not in the US legally. They are probably DREAMERs, but I'm not sure.

It's all "queer" stuff. I don't know any gay guys that really go to any of that stuff, although the gay guys on my campus really drink the kool-aid. Had one look at me shocked for saying I wouldn't sleep with a trans "man."

IDK if my college has any resources specifically for LGBTQ anything. We have mental health resources, but I've never gone. I'm fairly certain there are no "workshops" for anything relating to gender identity. This is a smaller, private school with a very heavy focus on a specific subsection of engineering and actually works pretty closely with the airforce on some stuff, so the campus frankly isn't big enough to accomodate gender ideology BS like a lot of other colleges have.

You are lucky. I went back for reunion a few years back and it was like I'd stepped into Gender World - the trans flag was all over campus. I did formally complain.

A bunch of meaningless gobbledygook: https://diversity.truman.edu/resources-02/sexual-and-gender-identity/

Although, I did learn that what was the feminist group when I attended now seems to be the “everyone but women” group.

I don't really know. Their mission statement is just stuff about making people more visible and that's it. The only thing they actually make a specific comment about is that gay staff get called out more for inappropriate comments than straight staff. I don't remember any staff member really being open about their personal life while I was there, gay or otherwise, so I don't know how a student would be able to pick out who was or who wasn't gay to make extra complaints about.

Maybe they force them to wear badges along with their pronouns and other required virtue signals?

Hah, there was no formal support for LGB students at my college. There was some sort of "LGBTQ+ space" but I never went there because I wasn't comfortable with how aggressively political many of the "q-eer"-identified students were. As if being obsessed with politics were a requirement for being gay... Ironically, even the LGBTQ+ students complained that there was little support. Plenty of gender-neutral bathrooms and discussion of "transgender" issues, though.

I never related to people talking about LGBTQ+ stuff on campus, and figured I was just an oddball for having so many issues with accepting my same-sex attraction.

Both official college resources and student organizations are trans-oriented. The college followed the "trans women gave gays their rights" narrative, and this wasn't college official, but the few times I went to the student-led meetings, people went around saying their names and pronouns, but there wasn't a single mention of anyone's sexuality. It took me about 3 times of that to figure out why there were no other gay men.

I went only once, this would've been 2017 or 2018 I think. We watching some video about a gay boy in middle school, I think it was produced by Ellen or something? Honestly, all I really remember is the beautiful bi girl at the meeting with two-tone blue hair.

They have an official space that was supposed to be an LGBT meeting/resources area back when I was there, but now it seems to just host a trans group and a bunch of political orgs.

The main LGBT society's instagram is just full of cringy memes and tired stereotypes.

This was 10+ years for me, but my college did have an LGBT group. I never did anything with them though. They were like the early precursors to what is happening today. Too much pontificating about their sexuality. Meanwhile I was out partying experiencing my sexuality 💁‍♂️

I, too, was applying to a similar college and needed to submit a statement of intent. But I didn't know how best to write it so that it would be correct and that I would be definitely accepted. Since there were quite a few candidates for each place. Luckily I turned to here for sop editing https://www.phdstatementofpurpose.com/ and they helped me with that already. They edited my already prepared personal statement and made the necessary edits. I recommend it too if anyone needs it.

I just checked, because there wasn't one at all when I was in college and I'm pleasantly surprised!

It's the "gay students alliance" and it specifically states that it serves "gay, lesbian, and bisexual" students. It even says it twice, no mention of gender.

I hated my college, but I'm so proud of them. I wonder now who their faculty sponsor is, the only openly gay professor who was there when I was in school has retired.

Edit: oops, I misread the title. My old school doesn't appear to have any publicly listed LGBTQIAA+++ resources beyond the student group. They didn't when I was there either. It's a little liberal arts college in Podunk nowhere.
