I don't think a TRA would struggle at all or even attempt to "explain it." They'd just say that both of those sentences are indeed true and that it's not an example of doublethink, and the only people that would think it was doublethink are Nazi fascist transphobes that deserve to be killed.

They also can't explain any distinction or boundary between what's an acceptable identification and what isn't. For example, if I'm 48, but identify as 24, who's to say that's not true? If I look human, but identify as a cat, why can't I be treated at the local vet? If I appear white, but identify as black . . . well, we all know how that goes.

They say you're just being an asshole when you bring up examples like that, but, in the end, what is the distinction that makes one assertion acceptable and another unacceptable? They won't admit it, but the answer is always: Because I said so.

Right? I don't understand why being trans-gender is ok, but trans-age or trans-racial is unacceptable, and no one has been able to explain to me why that is. If a random dude can feel like a woman, a random white guy should be allowed to feel black, I literally see no difference

I can't remember the name, but a woman in Philosophy (I think) wrote and published a paper analyzing being transgender vs. transracial and concluded that it would make more sense for people to claim being transracial because many people are of mixed race. Sex is binary, race isn't.

But she got a boatload of shit for it, and I think the academic journal that published it had to issue a statement saying that they didn't support her conclusion.

Anyone have the reference?

In April 2017, a young, American, philosophy asst. professor, Rebecca Tuvel, wrote a peer-reviewed article called "In Defense of Transracialism" for the feminist philosophy journal Hypatia.

Tuvel compared the situation of Caitlyn Bruce Jenner, our fave lady daddy, to that of Rachel Dolezal, a white woman who identifies as black. Tuvel argued that since we should accept transgender individuals' decisions to change sexes, we should also accept transracial individuals' decisions to change races.

Then all hell broke loose, with trans activists and their flying monkeys, including academics, demanding that Tuvel be burned at the figurative stake.

The whole episode illustrated (to anyone sane) the lack of anything approaching logic in gender ideology.

There is an entire subreddit poking fun at people who try to pass as another race. It's called r/Blackfishing.

It's ridiculous because race is a spectrum - the US or Brazil or? is vibrant proof of that.

Yaniv likes to “identify” as younger too.

I've tried to forget that. [shudder]

It's like the people who inironically identify as an attack helicopter to be ironic because of the people who ironically identified as an attack helicopter to point out how stupid this all is. They're proving that they're acting stupid by literally doing what people say they'd do BECAUSE PEOPLE SAID THEY'D DO IT in some futile attempt to legitimize themselves

You could take essentially any physical characteristic and try to bifurcate the physical reality and the psychology around the physical reality and do the same thing that trans people do. Utilize language to obfuscate our understanding of and ability to discuss the material reality and you'll be following the same playbook.

Mental gymnastics becomes easy when you have an automated jetpack to immediately call the other person a bigot for asking questions and claim victory

They would say that the very idea of doublethink and contradiction as a negative is based in colonialism and poc cultures doublethunk all the time in relative peace before the white man came.

I haven't stopped thinking about that one girl laughing about a straight man staring at her secretly non-binary tits and how she just assumes his gender lol TRAs are fucking hypocrites. I also agree that they'd brush it off as transphobic nonsense they don't need to acknowledge.

I think about stuff like this too. Like in one day these TRAs assume the pronouns, sex, and gender of tons of people whether they’re just browsing the internet or interacting with people IRL. The only places you do the whole pronoun game is in super woke spaces, schools because they are woke spaces, and now increasingly in medical and professional settings. That’s why none of this makes sense. I will never understand why people are so suspicious of criticism about all of this? Everyone is being neutered of their most basic instincts. The scariest part is normal human beings’ lack of willingness to hear or vocalize criticism.

They believe (or say they believe) that every lesbian & straight guy who was ever attracted to Elliot Page is now bi. Attraction to a particular sex is a "preference" at best & a "fetish" as worst.

You can't try to reason with them. You can only refuse to comprehend their ideology, completely dismantle their ideology, & monopolise the conversation basing your views on reality.
