Reading the comments on the article just makes me realize how F-ing stupid so many Americans who call themselves "Progressive" are.

Arkansas just banned giving kids, some even before puberty, Lupron, an advanced prostrate cancer drug USED TO CASTRATE SEX OFFENDERS.

A drug that will lower a child's IQ on average 8 points and cause their bones not to mineralize, as well as (depending on their age) stunt the growth of their genitalia.

The bill will also stop confused 13-year-old girls from getting double mastectomies, like they can in Los Angeles.

And these WOKE morons are spouting off about human rights and access to health care and how backwards Arkansas is. Sure, Arkansas is backwards about a lot, but its legislature just saved the health and happiness of tens of thousands of primarily gay children.

Really getting sick of both liberals and conservatives in the US, but at least the conservatives at the moment can see that children cannot consent to becoming very expensive, lifetime medical experiments for the benefit of Big Pharma & the Medical Industrial Complex.

Things start to make sense now. Technocrats and other kinds of authoritarians love it when people are stupid.

The common people, the ones out of the loop, with no particular affiliations to any LGBTIQA++ orgs, the ones who just want to be supportive to a minority presented as oppressed and suffering? Yeah,I would attribute their incorrect notions to their ignorance (rather than low IQ).

But those woke TRA activists who write all those articles the above demographic consumes? They know damn well what they are doing. They know what top surgery is,they know that most young children with GID get over it when they reach sexual maturity, they know that top surgery = double mastectomy and that puberty blockers stunt the growth. They know but they are so deep in the cult,so emotionally (and otherwise) invested to the TRA narrative, they simply ignore all the red flags and justify all the pain. Fuck them.

I agree that the gender lobby is pushing outrageous bullshit and needs to be held to account, but then I think why the hell would intelligent people think that bodies don't need to go through puberty?

It's self-evident that without going through puberty, body and mind won't mature, so all these "Progressive" geniuses cheering on the transitioning of children might not be as smart as they think they are.

My sister just finished ranting about this to me after I pretended I wasn't familiar with it and it was so obvious she was just parroting stuff from twitter and didn't actually understand what the bill entails. Virtue signaling at it's finest 🙄

Please tell her that the "harmless" puberty blocker Lupron is USED TO CHEMICALLY CASTRATE SEX OFFENDERS.

Would she give it to her child?

Does she think a child can make a decision about permanent sterility? Does she think that a 12-year-old uncomfortable with her new curves might learn to love her breasts at 19?

So fucking sick of Americans who think that just because the opposite party did it, it's wrong...(not aimed at your sister, just in general...)

Would she give it to her child?

It's not something she would have to think about, but I also never considered her potentially being the cool gender affirming aunt so this has been a weird development.

So fucking sick of Americans who think that just because the opposite party did it, it's wrong...

It's worse in the south because they feel like they have more prove or something.

It's also obvious the people opposing the bill have not read it, or even bothered to read up on any details not spoonfed via tweets.

Lmaoing at the state of America when Arkansas is doing the most to protect LBG communities at the moment

It really is ironic.

Right?! Usually they're in the bottom metrics on certain things. Arkansas is based atm!

Good. Stop using kids for medical experimentation. Everyone should be banning these treatments and all the doctors performing them should be thrown in prison.

I sent the info to a friend along with my comments, and she wrote back that "the governor banned it but the legislature overturned it." She's got it all backward. I'm convinced the average American has no idea what's going on here.

Because it's the smaller more conservative states that are trying to stop this, the media portrays it as "the backwards right-wing Christians" and whatever words coastal elites use to look down on other Americans with. Then it's easier to make it look like "they're denying children health care!" when it's the exact opposite.

LGB need to be more vocal than ever about protecting children, especially likely gay children. I wish we had more high-profile spokespeople out there.

I agree that LGB should be more vocal, because, as you say, most people can't figure out what the hell is going on, so the blame, when it hits, is going to fall on LGBt.

Martina seems to be learning a bit more about what's going on. I think she's a little scared to come out in opposition, but even if she did, I'm sure the genderists would just claim she's old and out of touch.

I’m very happy with the legislature of Arkansas right now. Hopefully this gets upheld in courts and more states will follow suit.

Video of Tucker Carlson questioning the Arkansas governor about his decision to veto the "gender affirming" treatment for minors ban. I hate that I'm on Tucker Carlson's side on anything...

Of course, the ACLU's Chase Strangio (a trans-identified female who seems to have serious mental health issues) has to play the suicide card:

"Doctors informed Arkansas lawmakers they would each be receiving a call when trans kids were hurt or died as a result of HB1570. Today the Arkansas House has voted to override Gov. Hutchinson's veto anyway. Such a painful disgrace."

I read Masha Gessen's heroic profile of Strangio a while back. It was hard not to throw up. This guy (he doesn't identify as a man even though he wants us to use male pronouns.) Let's try again, this female actually has a terrible credit score because she cowers in her apartment in fear of overdue bills because the bills are addressed to her original (female) name. Imagine that! She could pay her bills, but she's like "nope. deadnaming kill my credit score."

Such a disgrace that this person is the public face of the ACLU. I highly recommend the new "Mighty Ira" documentary about what the ACLU used to be.

I was a donor to the ACLU for decades. It's a crying shame that complete goofballs like Chase Strangio are now its face, but even more of a shame that the organization itself has been bought by the gender lobby and hollowed out, in order to use it as a Trojan Horse for the gender agenda.

And I'm not making this up: I spoke with a lawmaker's office who had supported a bill allowing men who self-identify as women into women's prisons - guess who convinced the lawmaker that this outrage was a good idea? The ACLU.

I had to relocate back home for the pandemic and have wound up in an unofficial caretaker role with my aging boomer (70s) parents. I cringe whenever I see continued fundraising appeals from the ACLU and and "hate reports" from the SPLC. They seem blissfully unaware that these orgs have been hollowed out and seem to lack the ability to distinguish between liberalism and wokism. I can't run their life, but it really bugs me that they could ever give another red cent to these organizations given what I know about them.
