Good piece. A nice, gentle introduction to the political divide between gay and trans people for an audience that's unfamiliar with the issues.

I think we all underestimate how ignorant the general public is about gender theory. All they see is magazine covers of heroic transwomen and Hollywood propaganda movies. They think trans=gay still.

I can’t help but think that TQ freaks out so much about the LGB Alliance because they know it means two things: 1. Exposing TRAs homophobia to the wider public 2. Giving LGB people the choice to support an organization that actually is about LGB people

Presumably, if both are allowed to happen, the TRA house of cards will start to crumble.

nce upon a time an organisation was established to campaign for gay and lesbian rights. They faced opposition from the outset. They were widely condemned, even called out as a hate group when they talked about same-sex attraction. When they sought charitable status, a petition was launched, urging the Charities Commission to reject the application. Tens of thousands of people signed it.

But this was not the dark days of the 1980s, when Section 28 stopped councils and schools 'promoting the teaching of the acceptability of homosexuality as a pretended family relationship'. This is now.
