it's funny because literally the only actual hate speech i've seen on social media is the T's homophobia and threats of violence directed towards the LGB and women. and i've never seen any actual hate speech from straight people directed towards us either.

it's literally just people calling out gender bullshit. people saying "a man in a wig isn't a lesbian" isn't hate speech, lmfao. but nowadays i guess it counts.

What I’ve seen from regular straight people is “it’s a choice” or “I don’t think it’s right.” Every once in a while, I’ve seen a slur dropped. I have never seen regular straight people advocate that we be beaten, raped, or killed. I have seen TQ+ regularly not only refer to LGB people and women with slurs, but post graphic fantasies of us being tortured, raped, and killed.

The problem with this sort of proposal is that we all know means that any LGB dissent with gender dogma will be silenced, but TQ+ will be given carte blanche to say whatever homophobic bile they want.

Now, I'm not saying that harassment and bullying doesn't occur ... but please define "hate speech".

'Cause from we're standing, "hate speech" is hurting someone's feelings, and we're being told that we're responsible for how they react to it.

"I think that there are direct lines to, unfortunately, suicides of our community," she said.

Well, then.

The report said, "While Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and others must balance concerns around free expression, it cannot be stated strongly enough that social media platforms must take substantive, meaningful, and far more aggressive action to prioritize the safety of their LGBTQ users and to staunch the epidemic of hate and extremism."

Interesting that Reddit wasn't mentioned. The word "Reddit" only appeared 5 times in the linked GLAAD report. My s/conspiracy hat is on.

Don't you know Julien, TERF is not a slur and it's not used negatively at all towards lesbians or women, and certainly isn't used towards men now too. I mean, radfems created the term, so everyone else is just using it the same way. Threats and violence are just made up in our heads. IT NEVER HAPPENS.

There is a world of difference between “I think we should be able to kill them slurs like they do in Iran” and “no, Todd, you aren’t a lesbian and you need to leave us alone.” Everything about this article seems like they’re very preoccupied with the later scenario rather than the former.

They're reclaiming the slurs on our behalf and saying it's not hate speech, so that means words are no longer a slur, so we're not experiencing it and everyone loves Iran now, right.

"Todd, you aren't a lesbian" and "Aiden, you aren't gay" is now the absolute worstest things that could ever happen in the history of humanity, and all you LGB people NEED TO GO! SEXUAL 👏 ORIENTATION 👏 DOES 👏 NOT 👏 EXIST!

"Stop drugging and castrating gay kids" is hate speech to them. They want it censored. A TV interview with the head of GLAAD about this "report" piece of propaganda was roundly mocked on Twitter today by people who believe in free speech. Fuck GLAAD.

I just posted an article on the same topic. What's truly scary is that GLAAD is demanding social media censorship claiming its on behalf of lgbTQ. So guess who'll get blamed?

Also, has GLAAD or NPR ever read Twitter or Reddit?

Because women, gay men and anyone sane is banned for saying such outrageous things as "sexual attraction is based on sex" while trans-identified males post death/rape threats with impunity.

The people demanding social media rule changes aren't "fragile" IMO: they are thugs, determined to shut down free speech because free speech is dangerous to a movement like gender ideology with zero connection to material reality.
