It's 20XX and the phrase "pedos are bad" is controversial

Happy to flair this something else btw, e.g. the "Homophobia" tag. But I also want to hear people's thoughts on this.

The best "therapy" for pedos is a bullet between the eyes, if you ask me.
Kids deserve to be safe more than pedos deserve to be free/alive.

You can feel however you want about that, we're not going to argue.

But this kind of commentary is against against the rules. Each of us individual users represent LGB when we post or comment here, and proclaiming "put a bullet in someone's head" or "pedos don't deserve to be alive" is advocating/promoting violence and harm towards others.

That isn't exactly the look LGB is going for, yanno? Take that messaging elsewhere. It's not welcome here. Not for us, LGB, and not for our host, SaidIt.

I think that there should be help available for those who recognize this within themselves and want to adjust that. Most pedophilia treatment is given too late--as a condition of an offender treatment program. I have little sympathy for those who do it, because it isn't a case of them being overcome with this urge and their hand suddenly shooting out to the little boy in the Wal-Mart dairy section.

A lot of them plan, and take advantage of the situations around them.

One person I knew became an assistant manager at a restaurant, befriended a woman at the restaurant, and charmed his way into providing free babysitting on days he was off but she was on. Guess what happened. That was hunting behavior, deception behavior, he charmed her so he could access her little boy. This was something a long time in planning, getting their trust. That child is hurt for life, and that woman will always feel like she had betrayed her son, willingly handing the keys to the man who attacked him.

I don't doubt for a minute that it is a mental illness, but my sympathy evaporates once you have harmed others.

Remember, Kathleen Stock was bullied out of her professorship, but this is apparently legitimate discourse.
