I think she’s trying to say he was a lesbian icon in the way Madonna or Cher are gay icons. But, I haven’t met a single lesbian (butch or otherwise) who likes Meatloaf more than the regular amount. It’s just not a thing.

I've never known anyone who was into his music, lesbian or otherwise. I knew he existed and knew he made music, but I couldn't tell you a single song he made. I'm pretty sure the only reason I even remembered who he was was because he called himself Meatloaf.

Evan Urquhart is a lunatic FTM who rules Slate's comment section with an iron fist. SO many times I saw Evan chirp things like "Puberty blockers are totally safe and reversible! Science says so!" And if you try to say politely that no, science has not proved this, it's a huge unknown and you shouldn't really be saying that, oh forget it. Censored, comment obliterated. Absolutely no dissent allowed from the ideology. Big part of why Slate has become such a non-essential degraded rag.

Joe "Grace" Lavery is another one desperately trying to stir outrage and attention to himself on Twitter by declaring that Meat Loaf was "queer" despite that being 100 percent bullshit. Crunts gotta crunt. Just a horrible vapid asshole that one.

I got a good laugh out of Lavery trying to call out a bunch of British feminists for not wanting to debate at something like 3am GMT. Then when they actually woke up a few of them went "Sure thing, time and date?".

I remember when I used to love reading Slate, especially the Dear Prudence column. When Grace Lavery took over, I began to notice the column took on a 'Savage Love' type vibe that seemed to center kink and truly fucked up, degenerate relationships (and the ensuing drama). I didn't understand that this was the realization of Queer Theory. I just stopped reading.

The entire website is just fucked up propaganda. How does anyone read this stuff and think "yes, this inspires me. This is the realization of a world I would like to live in".
