Where did you find this footage of me in high school?

This video is from the good ole days before TQ nonsense took over all LGBT content and made it off-putting and unrelatable. Do you find this content relatable? Did you have any uh, confusing sleepover experiences with your straight friends?? My first crush always wanted me to straight up spoon her!

A girl once told me she wouldn't get off my sleeping bag until I "held her like a baby".

My weird friend dared me to strip down to my underwear and roll on the floor over the spiky plastic chair mat.

Omg, YES. Same here!!!! And that's how I ended up having a crush on a straight girl and had no idea what was happening to me. Hahahaha.

I remember feeling so confused because I was never a very touchy-feely person growing up, but I always was around her after she started insisting that we cuddle every single sleepover. Hormones...

Thanks for the fun post, lol. I always feel better and amused hearing other people here had the same experiences.

Hahaha I didn't have any friends in high school.

🙁

Thanks for this blast from the not-so-distant past! This is painfully relatable, growing up gay in a straight world is rough 😂😭

Allie at the end:

"I won't be happy til I'm 22."

Oof hits hard, that's the age I first started coming out to myself that I really was a lesbian and it wasn't "just a phase".

Yes, likewise, I was 20 before I realized that I was not "just having some weird puberty thing".

Yeah it was surprisingly close around that for me, too. I read in a paper somewhere that the average age of lesbian girls realizing they were lesbian was like, 19 or 20 or something ridiculously high.

Allie is the coolest girl, and far more fun than the other girls.

This was hilarious, and sad.

Too bad she fell for the non-binary meme and cut her tits off. She literally had a podcast where she talks about how her mother made her feel ashamed for being a tomboy.

That’s extremely depressing. How is that supposed to be empowering and a sign of progress? Christ.

Wait, that girl who played Allie did that?!

WHY is this supported by the medical industry?

Oh wait, $$$$.

Big money to remove breasts that are healthy.

The ONLY plus side to this, is they won't get breast cancer.

Bit of a tangent: was it anyone else's experience that sleepovers were more of a pre-teen phenomenon? Like from approximately age 8 to maybe 14? With a peak around 10-11 or so? Or is it just me?

I remember this being a thing mainly with little girls, not teenagers. Much more elementary school than high school. When we were still young enough for "ooh, staying up late!!!" to be a big selling point. By the time you're a teen, the novelty of that has long since worn off. And dating (along with "going out" in general) has replaced sleepovers as far as nighttime social activities are concerned.

Generally yes, and I grew up in the era of Dream Phone at elementary/middle school sleepovers lol. Would LOVE a lesbian version of this game. Someone get on that!

The "sleepovers" I had later in high school were more in the context of staying over at a friend's house after we had a night of drinking there. I still had a lot of "sleepover" experiences with 1 or 2 girls in my late teens/ early 20s. This was years before I knew any out lesbian or bisexual women. I didn't really connect with many people at my college, so I very frequently had female friends visiting from out of town or went to visit them at their colleges so there was a lot of sharing of twin beds. These were definitely formative experiences for me coming to understand my sexuality, especially when I had been drinking and was less guarded.
