It's with a heavy heart that I say goodbye and bid you all adieu. I've spent over 3 years of my life and immeasurable time devoted to this, and I'm not making this decision lightly or without reflection.
I don't have it in me anymore to explain how LGB conversion therapy is happening and it's bad, mkay. I don't have it in me anymore to defend why "mutilation" and "festering wound" is crude and cruel. I don't have it in me anymore to repeat why TIM/TIF or troon/trancel is colonization and mockery. I don't have it in me anymore to mediate squabbles among users who won't behave maturely. I don't have it in me anymore to keep the peace between women and men, or homosexuals and bisexuals. I don't have it in me anymore to be a private investigator of bad actors or manufactured discord and dissent.
Over the years, I've kept a keen eye on trailblazers - not necessarily trailblazers of our cause, but people who are so passionate about what they believe in that they will sacrifice EVERYTHING. They get blacklisted from society, they can no longer hold a job or open a bank account, and sometimes even have to move out of their home and country just to find space for their cause to exist. Not only do I not have the means to do so, but to be perfectly honest, I'm also not willing to go that far. I'm no Josh Moon or Andrew Torba.
I'm so grateful to Clayton for opening my eyes to what's happened to LGB, and he is the true founder of our movement. He, too, had to step away, and I understand now why he did. Once upon a time I joked with our mods that I would "burn this sub to the ground before I let it get taken over". I'm stepping out so that doesn't happen. My fight is over.
I appreciate and am thankful to Clayton, and to each and every one of you, for being a part of "Drop The T" and LGB. Some of you have been here since our first few days on Reddit! You have stuck around even after disagreements with mods, rule changes, and user battles of your own. I'm deeply and personally touched by your continued support, but more than that - I'm awed by your perseverance through strife and difficulties, and how strong and confident you have been.
ALL OF YOU are an inspiration with your conviction and passion, and I'll be forever grateful to have known you, and that you've been a part of this journey. Despite any personal differences, I know we all want what's best for the movement and for our people. You are the LGB we need, and I believe in you.
Thank you, truly and sincerely, and with all my heart. Please be good to yourselves and each other.
Love, lots of hugs, smooooooooooooches, and a final tip of my glass to you all,
~ Im-Probably-Drinking/TumbleweedFireflies
