Flairing this as "LGB Erasure" because that's one of the main themes discussed in the video.

There is a 1hr15min version of this interview available as well.

TLDR: Shapeshifter, who is a youtuber I have never watched before but some of you might know, detransitioned and goes by "he/him" again after undergoing "bottom surgery" and ending up with a host of health problems.

Obligatory "I know a bunch of people here are not Blaire fans, but this is seriously worth a watch." Like for real, this is one of the best detransitioner interviews I've ever seen. I've copied a few of his quotes below if you want a sense of the interview, the whole thing's worth watching.

Fucking heartbreaking. I hope this guy finds peace.

Themes

Some elements of Shape's story that are common detrans experiences:

  • trauma history before trans identification - has extensive childhood trauma (did not describe further)

  • GNC-phobia and sexism - transitioned in order to escape male violence and ("psychologically") to be accepted, because "other men would never accept me as a man" since he is feminine

  • is GNC - enjoys presenting feminine

  • ignored by medical professionals after detransitioning - reached back out to surgeons and doctors, was ignored by all, "they didn't even give me an email"

  • new health problems caused by medical transition - Shape said he now has osteoporosis and scoliosis, which both began after transitioning

  • failed surgery - the neovagina does not even work, and has mostly closed (though he said he has sensation still, unlike the UK detransitioner whose story recently went viral on Twitter and in DailyMail)

  • still has dysphoric fantasies after surgery, just different ones - before surgery, had dreams about not having a dick; after his dick was removed, had dreams about having a dick again

  • alientation - is more alienated from his family now that he is detrans

  • lack of GNC role models - expressed regret that he had no male GNC role models as a child

Quotes

"I'm not a woman, I was always just a man who got suckered into this" (11:00)

"We're just making these greedy surgeons rich. After being through [the] system, the surgeons don't care about us, they really don't. For them, we're just a meal ticket." (11:50)

"Sometimes a bitter truth is better than a sweet lie... I wish someone had just hugged me and said, You're not a woman. You're never gonna be one." (14:10)

Describing someone who had warned him about surgery being dangerous:

"They were telling me the truth, and it's like I wasn't able to hear it, because I was so brainwashed. I was literally convinced I was an actual woman." (14:40)

He discusses how much easier it is to identify as trans than to be a "cis" feminine gay man:

"...I don't know why we're [feminine gay boys] like, the bottom of the barrel, and that sucks."

"Trans is a hot label... feminine boys don't get the same opportunities."

He ends the video by comparing transition surgeries to the lobotomy movement:

"This is lobotomy, of 21st century, you guys heard it first here." (16:40)

I agree this is heartbreaking and I really do hope this man finds peace.

But I'm a little, I dunno, irritated by comments such as "I wish someone had just hugged me and said, You're not a woman. You're never gonna be one." People are trying to do this all the time, but they get censored/deleted/canceled. I know he was under the spell of a cult before he detransitioned, but it was not unlikely that he would have rabidly lashed out at anyone who tried to legitimately help him.

We need to make it OK for professionals to legally and without fear of losing their licenses push back.

Again, I really do hope this man finds peace. He's brave for speaking up about it.

I hear you; this is an important point to emphasize. I do think that he was not intending to downplay that factor, though! He talks during the video about how much silencing there is of anyone who tries to speak out against the medical transition machine. I think he was more saying, "I wish someone had just hugged me and said, You're not a woman. You're never gonna be one." as an example of the type of reaction that would have been an appropriate response to his wish of being a woman.

Historically his mother should've been the one to do this but yeah, I think that's what he meant as well.

What bugs me is that he cited at least two instances where people tried to warn him. First was his religious family and then was the bi man who was in an open relationship with another male-to-transsexual who had first hand experience with a partner who had bottom surgery. What more warning do you want?

Yeah but the "professionals" use affermation only.

Lest they risk losing their license... It's appalling but the trans cult wanted this.

Muslim parents living in a Muslim country and dude you are not in a relationship with whose primary concern is your fuckability would not be all that persuasive to most people in this circumstance.

Thank you for the excellent breakdown! Shape Shifter has been making the rounds doing interviews with various YouTubers over the last couple of months. Notably across these interviews he shows an evolution of his thinking. When he was interviewed by Upperhand Mars (a non-reality-denying trans man) earlier, Shape Shifter then expressed interest in exploring a possible non-binary identification before now being of the mindset that the only way for him to identify now is as a feminine gay man using he/him pronouns.

I don't know if it was in this interview he did or another one (possibly with Arty Morty?), but I believe he mentioned the internal part of his penis is still within him and he still feels movement and sensations there, which basically serve as a constant reminder of his bottom surgery regret. I don't have a penis or know anything about the mechanics of that, but that sounds horrifying.

I feel very strongly for Shape Shifter. Despite being in obvious emotional distress about the fallout of his transition and English not being his first language, he is very articulate and blunt in how he describes his experience without veering into being sensationalistic. This is the kind of story that I don't know how anyone can just ignore and say it's not a big deal. From the outside many people would think this was a successful transition or "transition goals."

It's an important reminder that these are real people with entire lives before and after transition who are being failed by the system and censorship of complete and accurate information about medical and surgical transition. I also note that Shape Shifter is from a Muslim country, so it's not surprising that he would want to be viewed as something other than a gay man.

Thanks! Lol, it always makes my day a little brighter when you approve of one of my posts :)

Oh wow, that's awesome that he's still growing and changing in his views! I thought I had heard about him identifying as nonbinary so I was surprised in this video when Blaire described him as "he him." I wonder if he has faced backlash from his fanbase or from TRAs for fully ending trans identification.

Despite being in obvious emotional distress about the fallout of his transition and English not being his first language, he is very articulate and blunt in how he describes his experience without veering into being sensationalistic.

Yes. I noticed that about him, too; that's a good way of putting it. He is very straightforward and says what needs to be said in a way that captures the full extent of damage but that does not, as you said, veer into the sensational.

I also note that Shape Shifter is from a Muslim country, so it's not surprising that he would want to be viewed as something other than a gay man.

Yup. Definitely worth observing. I do worry sometimes that extremists on the left downplay just how hated same-sex attraction is in certain Muslim countries...

Honestly I feel like it would be the equivalent of "phantom nipple pain syndrome" that trans-identified women can get when they have their breasts amputated. Painful and weird because the brain is in distress realizing that something is missing.

Anyhow it's great that Shapeshifter is being forthcoming about the reality of these surgeries and how fucked they really are. You can't ignore him neither, he was a loud peddler of the trans cult and did everything they told him to do. Silence those who speak out against the ideology and getting the surgeries. He did all this and look where it got him.

I'm very aware of this Shapeshifter person because he played a part in cancelling TT Exulansic's YouTube channel when she did an analysis/commentary on the reality of his SRS and he didn't like hearing the truth so he flagged her channel and got others to join in. I'm sure it wasn't the only thing that got her completely terminated but it was the first.

Anyway it's clear that he was sold a lie and is seeing the error of his ways. His story is sad but it is what it is. I think it's great that he's owning his own life choices and not fully blaming others, no one force him to get SRS after all. But he's taking self-responsibility and that's noble of him. What's more noble is that he's spreading the message to others, warning the youth to not go through with it, that they will regret it as much as he does and this is important so I'm thankful that he's being upfront and honest about it.

That said, I didn't watch the interview because I'll be honest, I can't listen to Blaire's fake "woman" voice for prolonged periods of time but I saw a breakdown of it and I think it's hilarious how Blaire really tried to push that he and Shapeshifter are not the same when they are. Both are effeminate gay men though one had the snip and came to his senses, the other is still living in denial. And don't give me the "Blaire says he's male" argument, it doesn't mater that he acknowledges himself as male when he's still insisting that he's anything but a man and "transwoman" doesn't count, women are not a subclass of their own sex and "transwoman" implies they are a kind of woman which they're not. The day Blaire accepts what he truly and stops callimg himself anything but a man is when my view on him will change but as is, he's just as delusional as the other trans-identified men as far as I'm concerned.

Back to Shapeshifter, I wish him luck. I hope he has a good support network who's helping him out try to live life one step at a time because I can't imagine living that way knowing I can't go back and undo what I did to an important part of my body...

Great comment & analysis on Blaire White. I remember someone posting a video of him back some years ago. He still presented as male & was just an effeminate young gay man. He stated how tough it was for feminine gay men in the gay dating market. I've heard a lot of feminine gay men say this & state that's why a lot of HSTS trans identified individuals think identifying as a woman would be easier. I honestly don't see that, & Blaire stated after his "transition", he was essentially passed around by closeted bisexual men who were ashamed of him.

[–]Kai_Decadence 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That person was more than likely me haha. You're talking about this video right? I try to share that video whenever I find it relevant because it's so annoying how people think Blaire is any different than the average effeminate gay man who was struggling just as much as any other feminine gay man (myself included). He was another gender nonconforming gay man who was strugglign in the gay dating scene where majority gay men are attracted to masculine guys and frustrated, he deluded himself into thinking he must be a woman and felt that if he trooned out, he'd be able to attract more guys.

And the truth of the matter is this. Blaire was/is still attracting the same kinda guys he was attracting when he was not trans-identified. I'm confident in this because I don't call myself "trans" and I still attract the closet-case bisexuals who claim they're only into "trans" identified men. These men know there's no such thing as "transwomen" and all they care about is that the man presents himself in a non-masculine way, the fake moobs are just a bonus but I don't have any and they still were trying to get at me.

And yeah before Blaire's current boyfriend, his last two were closet-case bisexuals. One literally made him hide in the closet when his parents came to visit him at his college dorm (he admitted to this in one of his old livestreams, he got drunk and emotional).

Oh wow, I didn't know about that. I've not watched hardly any of that youtube channel but I've seen it linked here from time to time.

I completely agree, could not have said it better. I am really glad that Blaire is using his platform to spread awareness of detransitioners, but he is still in denial.

[–]Kai_Decadence 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah TT Exulansic mainly did videos on the realities of SRS and she would sometimes commentate on people who had that done and were experiencing complications and she'd commentate on what was happening with their bodies. ShapeShifter was one of the people she did a video on when he was talking about the complications he was having with his inverted penis. He didn't like it and flagged her video calling her "transphobic" and asked his fans to flag her channel.

I completely agree, could not have said it better. I am really glad that Blaire is using his platform to spread awareness of detransitioners, but he is still in denial.

Exactly, his platforming these people doesn't make him any less in denial himself. It doesn't make him any more "true trans" than the others and I think people need to remember this.
