The weird mix of 'they' and 'him' pronouns is confusing. Apparently the him friend was hyping up a relationship with the them, and then went out with them himself? I feel like the commenters are inferring things that weren't clear in OPs post.

Nevertheless, gender ideology is making normal teenage drama so much more complicated. This girl should be talking to a mature parent about her dating insecurities, but she probably has decided all adults are bigots. Instead she's being mindfucked and having her worst behaviours validating by equally immature youths on the internet

This is so true. I can't imagine being a teenager right now. My own teen years were confusing enough going from "I'm bi" to "no, I'm definitely gay" to having confusing relationships and also feeling very alone in my feelings. If society threw gender ideology into the mix, I have no idea how I'd have turned out.

I have a nephew that's getting ready to go into high school soon, and I'm pretty worried for him. He's a sensitive guy. I don't think he's gay (although I honestly wouldn't be terribly surprised), but I can definitely see him falling for "you're not a manly man, so you're not a man" stuff. Although there's not much I can do about that other than hopefully be a support for him, and not in the "everything you do is wonderful and I'll never say anything bad about you" way, but in the "let's talk out the situation and really try and get to the heart of things" sort of way.

My other friends we're trying to hype me up and telling him to stay out of it cause it's " my turn " to get a boyfriend.

Maybe it's THEIR "turn" to stay out of it, and mind their own damn business, cause the simps, handmaidens, and gender validators have enabled more problems than their virtue-signaling asses will ever realize.
