If a seven year-old claims to be non-binary, I start wondering about the how much the parent had to do with that. Actors -- and I have some personal experience with this -- tend not to be the most stable, psychologically-healthy people.

I don't know how to make a link on a text post so Ill just comment under it. A movement for Homosexual and later bisexual rights, is not for kids who have non stereotypical interests. Especial as they may be straight. This is a perfect example of how watered down the fight for gender has made our civil rights movement. Rosie O'donnell had the right idea about gender but she let a child convince her that SHE was in the wrong. Also I bet the mom in the tweet thinks she's very brave for coming out as the parent of a child with non stereotypical interests. I'm sure she was shunned by her community of like minded liberals.

There is a problem where we are reinforcing the idea to the child that they are the most important person in the world. Not long ago strangers in public would just call you a spoiled little brat. Now it seems like society at large is trying to create the spoiled brat child even if the child isn't one to begin with.

I used to get annoyed by people who would get offended on my behalf over insignificant issues related to gay things. It seems like this exact type of person has moved over to being offended on behalf of x y z transgender or non binary person. And if it's a mother she is now performatively throwing a tantrum and then also dragging her kid into it and she will make the kid act like the spoiled brat so she can get off on bragging about being an ally.
