But for many others, the family is a place of private horror, coercion, and personal domination.

Oh, wow, are they actually going to support abuse survivors and talk about toxic behaviors??? They're finally doing something that could support many LGB people (and non-LGB people)!

From early Marxists to Black and queer insurrectionists to today’s mass protest movements, O’Brien finds revolutionaries seeking better ways of loving, caring, and living. Family Abolition takes us through the past and present of family politics into a speculative future of the commune, imagining how care could be organized in a free society.

...Nope. Never mind.

This seems like the response to "leave our children alone". Trying to erase the concept that parents have any say at all in raising children.

LGB in the 1990s and 2000s: "We don't want to destroy the family. We just want to be able to marry the people we love."

Radical Queers in the 2020s: "As a matter of fact, yes, we do want to abolish the traditional family."
