Curious how much traction it's gotten? Gofundme seemed to peak right around the time of the pandemic, when there was a spirit of "we're in this together." Lately, whether its because of inflation or fatigue with people constantly asking for money, I've noticed a lot of the GFMs, even the ones that were about HELPING [INTERSECTIONAL IDENTITY] have not been meeting anywhere near their goals.

Personally, I actually was soft-hearted enough to donate to these sorts of things back in the day. Then I realized I was working my ass off in a warehouse job that many of these people (whom I knew personally) thought was beneath them. I remember one woman's face scrunching into a mocking scowl when she found out I was a forklift driver, and she spat the words out in a childish sing-song:"A FOOORKLIIIFT DRIIIIVER!!!!" Hell no I don't have money to buy you a tiny house, lady!

I get a kick out of seeing how little money they've received.

Yeah, I've donated to people who have had serious crises, like workplace accidents or severe medical issues. Helping Mx Genderspecial pay zer bills because zeyre so oppressed doesn't qualify, for me. Last I checked there were something like 20 000 trans related begs on the site. GoFundMe takes a cut of each donation, usually, so they're making some good money off of these people. Given that both public and private insurances typically pay for 'gender-affirming care', I don't see why people would be motivated to donate.
