I hate using "cis", but just to keep things consistent with the study, I will. The study used the Kinsey scale and biological sex to determine sexual orientation. I think it's saying, when looking at the left/right sides of the brain:
LEFT SIDE
* Categorical differences between men and women appear, regardless of trans/cis or hetero/homo.
* Cis hetero men and Trans women (homo and hetero) were similar/the same.
* Cis homosexual men were somewhat similar to Cis hetero women in a few areas, but were still categorically in-line with men in general.
* Cis hetero women and Trans men (homo and hetero) were similar/the same.
* Cis homosexual women were somewhat similar to Cis hetero men in a few areas, but were still categorically in-line with women in general.
RIGHT SIDE
* The categorical differences between men and women did not appear in the same way as on the left side of the brain.
* Cis hetero men and Trans women (homo and hetero) showed significant differences in one area (IFOF), along with a few other distinct pockets.
* Trans women were generally more similar to Cis homosexual men.
* Cis hetero women and Trans men (homo and hetero) showed significant differences in one area (IFOF), along with a few other distinct pockets.
* Trans men were generally more similar to Cis homosexual or bisexual women.
They seem to be coming to the conclusion that there's a link between being trans and being homosexual. And those areas on the right side of the brain are believed to be what contribute to it, as it's closely correlated with our perception of self.
Am I understanding it correctly? This was done before the explosion of AGPs online and IRL, but it seems to be confirming "trans the gay away", as well as the erasure of gender non-conformity for non-LGB.
