Does it ever just blow your mind that there are so many straight people out there who have no idea that any of this is even happening? And if they did have an idea, they wouldn't even care?

I kind of miss the olden days when crazy straights would start acting up over the possibility of a gay Teletubby, nowadays they don't even care if Ronald McDonald and the Hamburglar are making out on an advertisement.

Hell, I have a hard time convincing my older LGB friends that this is what the younger generation is facing now. In a way it was easier for us back when we were hated.

I've been eating more vegan food because it's meant to be good for the environment and I need to stop eating junk food... but I really don't want to be A Vegan because they're annoying af.

Radical vegans are as much a cult as the radical trans people so I can see why there's be overlap.

I might read that. Anecdotally I've had a few friends do really well with veganism .... until they didn't. They seem to run out of nutrients and hit a wall and then have to take supplements.

Also, this reminds me of the time some vegan radfems claimed that not being vegan was misogyny because animals were treated like rape victims or something. Like eating/taking eggs from a hen (who lay them anyway) is akin to rape.

I remember those posts from the GC sub. There are some GC/Radfem ideas that I cherry-pick and like but that whole vegan misogyny animal rape stuff just made me go "Oh hell naww!!" Basically, by eating animals, we are raping them??? (no sweetie, we are killing them so we can eat them, we're not sexually assaulting them, saying stuff like this degrades actual rape victims.) People really need to get it through their heads that the "Why aren't you vegan yet? If you aren't vegan you're a horrible person!" thing is the easiest way to make everyone hate you and your cause.

Huh... Maybe we should introduce the vegans to the TQ and let them destroy each other...

Yeah, that's how I feel about GC. They have some common sense, like being against TRA crap & stuff like pornography, but then they get extreme, and I feel like the GC sub just got worse and worse as time went on.

Not to mention some people can't eat a vegan diet for health reasons, or because they're poor (it can be hard if you can't buy a wide range and good quality of ingredients)

Well, yes... I was banned there last week. They are in full lock-down siege mode and are purity spiraling.

With it's proximity, s/LGBdroptheT has to be careful less it gets drawn into the vortex as well. And I really don't want that to happen here, as their interests and hang-ups are markedly different and their goals must not supplant this one's.

I really hated to see it and to say it, but y'all know it to be true. This is not a marriage, but simply an alliance. Decouple to a reasonable distance, set boundaries, or you'll just- lose yourself entirely. The LGB and every constituent group in it is destined to be small and is no match for the ideological osmosis from a member-unlimited movement.

This sub is also going down the shitter, look at the sidebar that clearly states its an echo chamber and that opposing opinions are banned. I mean, it was never good to begin with, this was always sort of a GC 2.0 But With Men Included and is basically just a place for privileged American gay/lesbian people to whine about how evil bi people and trans are, with no productive discussion whatsoever. Radfems have always flocked here but it got worse after the Reddit ban, so now there's pretty much always MoonWitchTerfPussy69 in the comments going on a rant about how "bihet handmaidens" are out to get her and are the literal devil.

We really need an uncensored homosexuality sub, and I mean uncensored as in free speech/no banning of opinions. That would be far more productive than echo chamber subs and maybe some actual positive discussion would take place if different viewpoints weren't automatically met with hostility and censorship.
