So heterosexual is opposite-sex attraction but homosexual is same-gender attraction? In what fucking world does that make sense? If opposite-sex attraction exists then same-sex attraction must also exist.

It gets better! The book is aimed at the 12-15 age range. You know, the age when most people start to work out they’re LGB. It robs kids of the language to describe themselves and plants the seed that they’re “bad” for being same-sex not same gender attracted.

Disgusting. We need to write books that will actually benefit homosexual and bisexual teenagers, and set up a new infrastructure through which we can distribute the book.

the world where he wants to tear apart the gay/lesbian community to burn as much of it down to gain access to whatever he can for his dating life. And notice how he waters down bisexuality so much and im guessing to some bisexuals, they think it doesnt matter and its "ok" because whatever they identify as, theyre still the sex they were born with...but when you let these people create "INFINITE DIVERSITY!", bisexual infighting increases. You have like 8 different types of "bisexuals", all infighting and turning it into a lifestyle/cult where they cant even agree on a single thing. And all bisexuality is known for is the constant "is it "transphobic! bi doesnt mean 2!" and arguing with "pansexuals". All because the bisexuals let these people "contribute" to their community and it centers around them now.

In Clown World it makes sense. This is where we’re living right now.

They know that heterosexuals aren't going for that nonsense, so they just focus their idiotic talking points towards a group, who they feel they can coerce or just bully, unfortunately.

This is true, but I also think heterosexuality is intentionally not targeted because the writer wants it to seem like the only acceptable sexuality.

"Gender identity is associated with how you define your gender."

Circular reasoning much?

But then gender is a social construct with arbitrary "girl colors" and "boy colors." Thus, if you like pink, bingo, you're a girl! Easy!

YA has been infiltrated by the gender brigade for a while now. just take a look at the recent lists for "mlm". there was one particularly gross synopsis i read about a cis gay boy who struggles with being gay but falls in love with a trans boy in high school and i guess finds self-acceptance that way or whatever, it's called all kinds of other by james sie. it was nausea-inducing. i saw it on goodreads during the whole malulani moreno fiasco. the conversion therapists are gonna love these books, great job everyone

Or they're shoehorning gay relationships or having casts of gay, which is usually along the lines of 'look how uwu precious gay relationships are', not actual representation.

Very intentional: complete erasure of same-sex attraction and lack of opposite-sex attraction. I find this one especially disturbing because of how explicit it is, but also the way that a normie parent wouldn't even notice that.

Also I think u/OPPRESSED_REPTILIAN made a comment awhile back on the extremely shitty yet recognizable art style of trans TRAs. He's so right.

I get that the trans movement is fueled by narcissism, but I truly wish they would leave kids out of it. Some poor kid in Nebraska figuring out themselves doesn’t need a grown man obfuscating everything just so the grown man can feed his personal delusion.

CalArts? I think he's only the propagandist writer though. He gets more talented artists to illustrate his books. Which is probably why most of the novels look okay(at least to my eyes).

Maybe I'm just biased against because it seems like every TRA's profile picture is anime or low-effort lineart.

Sick. But what can you expect from a homophobic straight man LARPing as something he’s not? He sees lesbians are servants and gay men as a waste of oxygen.

Oh, look, another obese fantasy-world-obsessed failed adult calling himself a lesbian 'girl'. This shit is why I stay away from Comic Cons...

If he cut his hair he’d look like a man.

Wait he wrote Lumberjanes? Oh no 🥺

[–]MyLongestJourney 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

One of the Lumberjanes is a "trans girl". I stopped reading that comic the moment it was revealed.

[–]julesburm1891[S] 12 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 0 fun13 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Same for me. What pissed me off was that, out of the blue, they picked the smart girl who was good at math and science to make trans. They couldn’t just add a trans character, they had to do it while promulgating the sexist idea that boys are smarter, more logical, and better at STEM.

It's infuriating.

Okay. Didn’t get to that point. Good for me that I stopped before that. Would be a dealbreaker as well.

[–]Femaleisnthateful 14 insightful - 1 fun14 insightful - 0 fun15 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I've never seen the same definition of 'gender identity' twice.

It seems like, based on this, 'trans' is just non-conformity with socially imposed constructs of gender that they never define. Is a female who likes the colour blue 'trans'?

[–]julesburm1891[S] 14 insightful - 2 fun14 insightful - 1 fun15 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

By comparing gender to “boy and girl” colors, he got the closest I’ve seen in physical print to saying the quiet part of trans dogma out loud.

[–]yousaythosethingsFind and Replace "gatekeeping" with "having boundaries" 13 insightful - 1 fun13 insightful - 0 fun14 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

“But sex and gender are different” . . . except when they’re not . . . except when they also are.

And if this is all so individualistic, who says that everything about the way I dress, behave, and talk has anything to do with gender? Why can’t I say that it has to do with my sex or neither?

They turn everything into a performance where there are no standards to judge anyone or anything by expect when they want to castigate people for non-compliance. Then suddenly everything is clear and has unquestionable meaning.

ETA: Also is there a single example of a gay man getting violent on a FtM for tricking him/not disclosing she was female? Has this happened? Or is this again all hypothetical concerns of violence rooted not in real concern for their own safety but out of tacit recognition that tricking gay men and surprising them with your female body in a sexual setting may lead to a strong reaction of aversion by men who are homosexual?

[–]SuperGayIsOkay 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Like race, gender is a social construct

Whoa there. When we're talking about humans, we use "race" as a kind of misnomer to refer to what we really mean as ethnicity. We're all the same species. Race, depending on the setting, particularly in a fantasy context, can be used interchangeably with species, so claiming that race is a "social construct" in a book with what appears to be rabbit people is gonna get real confusing, real fast.
