By posting this here, your plan is already likely doomed to fail because obsessive TRAs stalk us and read our posts. Your graphics will quickly be called out as a t3rf psyop, which it is.

We don't need tactics like this. The truth is on our side and that's what we need people to see. If they see us resorting to manipulation to make our point, they might have second thoughts. I know I would.

You're right about that.

This how most public "debate" happens. This is what lobbying groups and PACs do. This is what gets talked about at NYT, CNN, Guardian, editorial meetings. We have all adopted opinions and supported policies and government actions many times because we were targeted in this way. We get targeted in this way daily. It is part of life.

I don't think there's much of an appetite for political agitation around here.

So you created this to trick them and deligitimize ourselves in the process? Fucking lame.

And they made it really fucking obvious it's a false flag by not using the current updated pride flag that's trendy with the triangular chevron.

gretagarbo: You're an amateurish moron. Thanks for trying to delegitimize us, you fucking imbecile.

It's definitely not a good idea.

I think I posted about this a while ago, but I forgot my old username/password lol - finally got to making these Instagram story-style infographics that might actually get us somewhere. My line of thinking is as follows:

  • Drop the T will not happen if the visible, connected 'media class' of POC trans and nonbinary people are openly against it
  • These people mostly congregate on Instagram and use language associated with critical race theory, appealing to current academic paradigms
  • By also appealing to these paradigms and by communicating in ways that appeal to the 'most woke', I think it's possible to make large numbers of progressive trans people inadvertently back the #DroptheT goal, separating to create a separate trans community that is then freed from the LGB association and ready to cannibalise itself within 5ish years
  • I propose we use the hashtag Trans Autonomy Now (not Drop the T), cite black trans women and supposed 'institutional racism', and allege abuse/gaslighting/Stockholm syndrome, finally asserting that the term 'LGBTQ' is problematic due to the reach of trans oppression
  • The infographics linked in the Imgur folder can be spread anywhere and it would be cool if we did this in large numbers, as long as none of us are visibly posting from gender critical accounts and can pass as progressive. I literally put them anonymously on my university's Facebook page a while ago and got a positive react from our trans advocacy group lol. Feel free to make more if you're CRT literate! I used Canva. If you guys are interested I can make a Discord server or Telegram so we can coordinate.

Congratulations; you've entirely missed the point of DropTheT and in your race for instant gratification you've attempted to compromise our cause.

DropTheT isn't something that's going to happen by openly campaigning to "Drop The T!". It's something that happens in gradual steps by generating recognition that LGB causes are important and distinct from TQ+. LGB Alliance as well as Lesbian and Gay News are working towards that goal.

What you are doing is damaging our cause. Stop it.

This isn't that type of online community. We skew older. This is an excellent idea, though.

I'm 19, I think there are a few posters or at least lurkers here around my age, esp. young lesbians, and most of us here will be familiar to a passing extent with tumblr BS language just because of the posts we're exposed to every day. So could still be workable! If you know of any hidden gender critical communities with a younger age range then feel free to circulate there, too

What was your old username? You seem to have forgotten a couple of links, btw.
