First, if you hadn't mentioned that you were 16, I would never have known: your writing style is already very sophisticated, so don't undermine yourself by saying "I'm only a teenager".

Second, I remember how isolating it was to be a gay teenager in the 80s. I guess it still is isolating but for different reasons. I don't know that I or anybody else on the internet can make the loneliness any better. But hang in there: you're smart, level-headed, able to see through BS. Never forget your power and you'll make it through.

Yeah it's just such a bad take lol. The best surgeons can make a neovagina look identical to the point that gynecologists are even fooled.

OK, let's do it again (take 7823): there is no way that a professional who has spent 3-4 years in medical school and then 3 more years in internship/residency and then maybe 3 more years in a gynecology fellowship, who has seen literally 1000s of vaginas by the time they see you, will fail to notice that your "vagina" is slightly too low, has no mucous membrane, no musculature, a tendency to grow hair, and does not lead to a cervix.

Even I know this, and I'm a gay man.

They think 2030 is going to be a LGTBA+bullshit paradise, in reality, once the pendulum swings back against them, they are going to face so, so, so much more hate than when they started and no one will give a shit because they went so too far.

This is one of the things that concerns me. I was happy when I gained the right to legally marry my spouse. That's all I needed, and the two of us have faded into the woodwork to be part of our general, family-oriented community. You know what features I don't find attractive? Vaginas and phalloplasties made from arm skin.

“If you’re genuinely not interested in a certain set of binary genitalia, that’s okay; you shouldn’t have sex with someone that you don’t want to,” Hamil assures. “But if you’re really into someone, are genitals going to be a dealbreaker for you? [–]IridescentAnaconda 29 insightful - 1 fun29 insightful - 0 fun30 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

In Boston, as in other cities, Pride has fractured into several camps. One is made up of those who are happy to see Pride become a blander, more corporate, mass participation institution within America’s ever-expanding civic calendar. The second major bloc is made up of those who seek radicalism for its own sake, and who are desperate to rekindle what they see as the revolutionary origins of Pride. And so if gay rights is no longer radical, they insist, the LGBT movement must pour its energy and resources into causes that offer the possibility of militant politics—such as radical gender movements, the erasure of biological sex, anti-capitalism, demonization of Israel, extreme forms of “anti-racism,” pacifism, and police abolition. Even gays and lesbians, now seen as the “privileged” elite of the LGBT population, are the subject of suspicion, and even animosity.

As a member of the "privileged" elite, I've known for awhile there's a target on my ass. The alphabet soup people don't want my heteronormative lifestyle, and they kinda don't want me to have it either.

Fuck them, I don't want the freak show that LGBTQ+ (where the "+" probably includes MAPs) has become.

Yes, he's a loose cannon and he will hurt someone one day. Bonus: he is a fan of rape fantasies. His aunt tries to keep her daughters away from him, and he has posted an image of a young girl standing at a urinal commenting on the size of "her" member.

I don't doubt for a minute that he was creeping on the girl and that the mother's protective instinct kicked in.

I have a slightly different perspective on all this.

Nobody is seriously proposing woque-style conversion therapy (at least not yet), notwithstanding an insistence that we "seriously examine our socially determined preferences" or whatever that crap is. On our end, almost all consequences of FtM uwu can be avoided simply by limiting any meaningful social contact with FtMs, which shouldn't be difficult.

Who I am really concerned about is the FtM's themselves. They are signing themselves up for a lifetime of rejection (recall that story about the FtM who ended up crying in the bathroom of an orgy because nobody saw her as a real man), not to mention serious medical problems, all for some stupid fantasy that can easily be worked around by dating some metrosexual straight guy who would be happy to have them.

I really feel bad for these women in spite of their obnoxiousness.

Second, even if it’s true that most men natively have strong desires to have sex with people who have vaginas, it doesn’t follow from this that they can’t ever develop desires, perhaps even strong ones, to have sex with people who have penises (and the same goes for women). Such a preference may have to be one you’d have to work to develop (unlike, say, the desire for sugar, which comes naturally), but that would simply make it the sexual equivalent of scotch: an acquired taste.

Lord god, we're moving in the opposite direction and LGBT is leading the way.

maybe they do it because they genuinely find certain distinguishing racial features less attractive than others.

True in my case. For example, I typically find hairy bodies much more sexually appealing than smooth ones. This ends up excluding one very large racial group. Nothing personal - happy to have these people as friends - but they won't do much for me sexually.

Maybe it's because I'm old, maybe it's because I have my own battle scars. But I draw a very harsh and unwavering line with things like this. Love is a two-way street, it is a reciprocal activity, it is always conditional, conditional on both parties bringing something to the table (I'm talking about two adults, not parent-child love). Love is not, nor should be, unconditional.

If you partner changes the rules so drastically that there is no room for you or your own story, then it's time to leave. Period. There is no negotiation on this point.

People don't need to know anything about my sex life, they just need to know that I've committed to spending my life with a specific named individual who is clearly, biologically and socially, a man.

I don't socialize with other gay people (aside from my husband) so I don't experience the isolation you speak of. Fawning over trans exists for me only on social media. If the topic of trans comes up in real life, it is usually with some level of disdain ranging from "whatever, I don't understand it but you do you", through "I'm very sad for people with such mental illness", to "transwomen are shadow monsters from the pits of hell".

Tbf, in my personal life that last opinion is only openly expressed by myself and my husband.
