Your determinism is showing. EVs have their own set of problems, from infrastructure, to resource and pollution heavy manufacture. A nice 50 to 60 mpg (or higher) vehicle is doable, there's just never been an incentive. That would make way more sense than just shunting the pollution and resource depletion further up the chain.

I took a Major Black Writers course at a local communtitty collidge once. I was exposed to a lot of great writing by great AA authors from throughout history. One thing I noticed tho, the grades, the papers, the in class essays, were all graded so easily. Easiest A I ever got in a course. From this tiny amt of exposure to lefty social science liberal arts academia, (as a rule, I prefered my non science/math courses in college to be dead, white, and male) I took away the idea that college + identity politics = really lax standards 🤷‍♂️
